I'm starting to plan our next trip to WDW and was wondering if you've done this? Do you have a certain seller you like to use? Good experiences or bad? Thanks for your help!!

Not sure if ebay is a good idea or not :confused3 You may be better checking out the main rental sites like vrbo - probably get as good a deal there.

Just IMO, there is so much competetion in the travel/vacation industry I think you can get as good or better a deal in the traditional market without the additional risk of an ebay transaction.

I had some great experiences from Renting Resorts. I was able to book two weeks in a three bedroom three bath condo for $499 per week. They sell discounted empty timeshare condos for more than Skyauction but the selection is better.

They have a pretty nice selection of resorts throughout the country.

The company is:

Resort Rentals International LLC

Brooke answers inquiries promptly and will create Buy-It-Now auctions customized just for you if they have availability.

They tend to get inventory no more than 90 days out.

Which resort had the 3 bedrooms? And do you get a rental certificate (don't know the real name!) for that week? I'm concerned after Hotel Kingdom cancelled the cypress points villas on people, even though they were paid and confirmed.

Grand Beach on 535 has huge three bedroom three full bath units. Two of the bedrooms are master suites with separate tubs and showers.

I like the room decor in Cypress Pointe better, but I like the lake views from Grand Beach better.

last year I rented a 4 bedroom/3 bath private pool home for $412 for the week of spring break. I won the auction on ebay (I was the only bidder). The owner is from the UK but I do not see her home listed this year on ebay.

I had absolutely no problems at all. I paid via paypal. the home was managed through a management company & contact was made via email with the owner (VERY nice lady). in fact she offered to rent me her home for the same rental rate any time I wanted to rent from her again in the future.

I wouldnt hesitate to rent via ebay again. You can at least look at feedback & I dont think you run any bigger risk using ebay than any other site to find a rental home. I was looking last week & there seem to be many deals to be found for rental homes in orlando on ebay.

Basically, I've had the same experience. I used a seller named jumpbackjack0 last fall and got three of the 2BR condos at Cypress Pointe Grande Villas for $300 each for the week before Christmas. I paid via Paypal and used a credit card just in case. Her prices seem to have increased since then though. Ebay will be one of the options that I check for our Thanksgiving trip.

I check their feedback, only pay through Paypal (with a credit card), and want them to be SquareTrade verified.

(P.S. Friday, I found a last minute auction for a week somebody had open in Destin for a condo on the beach for $199 for this week! I would have been all over that, but DH is a teacher and has to give final exams this week. :headache: )

We rented a week at Orange Lake Country Club and Resort, winning it off of EBAY. We didn't have any problems. I know more now...and think I will do some more research for better deals...maybe try skyauction. We paid $749 for a 2 br 2bath villa for 7 nights. We loved Orange Lake though, and want to stay there again!!

So, when everyone uses ebay, what do you "search" for?

I go to the Travel category and then click on Florida under Lodging and Vacation Rentals. You can then scroll through everything (which can result in a bargain if somebody didn't list it well), or you could try putting in Orlando or Disney.

Now, that seems reasonable. "Searching" and "googling" are not my forte!

Thank you!

eta: Wow! TMI! My mind just melted. There are an abundance of choices!

I usually scroll down through the prices and look for something under $600 for the week.

Right now, there are several Bonnet Creek 2 BR units on there for some very good prices. If you know a specific resort (like Bonnet Creek or Cypress Pointe) that you're interested in, you can just put it in Search and those units will pop up.

On the flip side though, when I found my bargains on Cypress Pointe Grande Villas, the seller had them listed under Cypress Pte., so it wouldn't have come up. Just play around with it, and you'll find some great options.

Let me know if I can help any!

We got a 3BR at Hilton Grand Vacation Club Sea World for $650 for the week, I love eBay! I see great bargains all of the time at Marriotts as well, as long as you are flexible.
