Anyone Used AOL from SoG?

I keep e-mailing back and forth to SoG, they keep telling me they use WebTV, but not answering my simple question. Will I be able to hook up my laptop somehow through WebTV to send documents from my laptop over the internet? IF NOT if anyone has a local access # for SoG through AOL I would SO appreciate it. I am going to have to e-mail papers to professors while gone and need to be able to send documents!

the internet at sog is terrible. the webtv is not really webtv but a generic & you can't get your email (or it takes 10 minutes to get to the page). they do have one of those "internet phones" in the lobby that charges $7 for 15 minutes. didn't try it. but we did try the inroom internet in january. we would have had faster results if we just flushed the $5 down the toliet.

ps. local calls cost 75 cents...so ifyou get a local aol number, you may be able to access your account via a laptop. or find a local library.

Thanks! I will just do all my work ahead and talk to my professor about turning it in ahead of the deadlines. Plus I can always go down to one of the local best besterns and sit in the parking lot n use their internet! lol

I know some of the hotels we will be staying in on the way there will have access I will make sure I take advantage.

We used AOL dial-up last year from SoG with no problems (other than the horrendously slow page load times, of course!). The only problem we encountered was front desk staff who had no way of knowing whether the numbers we needed to call would be long distance or not. We used the numbers from this list, which is updated periodically, and had no problems.
