anyone used a Camel Hump's....

This may or may not have been on here before....I have recently found something called a Camels Hump. It is a back pack, that depending on price holds anywhere from 1L to 3L of water in a backpack. There are drinking hoses that you pull outof the pack and drink.

Has anyone used these before. do they stay cold...if they do for how long.
and how does security open it up????


any help would be great... so far I have only found them at the Coleman outdoor store.. and didnt want to spend the 30.00 if they werent worth it

Are you talking about a CamelBak? They come in a wide variety of styles, so it's hard to say if one will suit your needs or not. I don't believe they're designed to keep water super cold... just to provide hydration. I find them useful for mountain biking & adventure sports - such as when one is heading out on the trail to a place where drinking fountains do not exist, and when one doesn't want to stop biking/hiking/running to unscrew the cap of a water bottle.

Most likely a water bottle would be just as convenient (if not more convenient?) for a family trip to Disney, but it's certainly up to you!

We have used a camel back for many years. We don't have the expensive type - but just the cheapie from Target. I believe we paid $24.99 for ours. It is a 2 liter. You can fill it, and freeze it. If you don't have a fridge, all the counter service restaurants will give you a glass of ice.

We usually carry our camcorder, camera, ponchos, etc in the back back. Never had a problem getting through security.

Our Bladder sprang a leak and we were able to get replacements at Target made under the Eddie Bauer name, for about $9.99 for 2.
