I saw these at the local store and thought they might come in handy, but wanted to ask to see if anyone has used them before. They are little flash units that will sit on a flat surface and have their own tilting stand or you can attach to a camera or tripod. They work by sensor so that when main flash goes off, they go off. Thought it would be good for indoor shots of my kids. They are really inexpensive at $20 each. Any thoughts?

I have a couple of these from Gadget Infinity. Not built like a Pocket Wizard, but a HECK of lot cheaper and do a good job for all that I've used them for. They are not really boosters, but wireless triggers.

The transmitter on the camera hot shoe is small and the receivers will trigger most flashes I've seen. Canon, Nikon and Sunpak all work fine. They make off camera light really easy.

I use them with a flash bungeed to objects, on a light stand or small spare tripod for all sorts of shots.

That is a pretty neat looking deal too. I might have to try one of those and see how that works. The ones I got (see link in post above) have the flash built in so I now have three flash units. If I get one of these transmitters and it works I can place the three in different locations and shoot from a fourth. Right now I have to have the main unit on the camera. But first I will see if these work as they advertise.

very, very interesting...
