Anyone use Urgent Care while at WDW?

Yep! It has been awhile though. My now DS 10 was 5. He cut his leg on the clip of the lanyard you can buy after exiting Star Tours. We were in our hotel room (POR) so I called the front desk.

They sent paramedics who said immediately he needed stitches. They gave us two options, the emergency room or a Kids Urgent Care. Sorry, I forget the actual name. We chose the urgent care because really, who wants to be in a regular emergency room if they don't have to be.

It was great. He watched Nemo in the ceiling. We had to take a cab there because we didn't have a car. They could have transported us to the emergency room, but we still opted for Urgent Care.

Unless the kids need nothing more than stitches, DON'T GO TO URGENT CARE NEAR DISNEY. I really cannot stress that enough. Last year, our two year old started wheezing. The hotel recommended the urgent care center nearby. Those "professionals" took our $50, looked at my daughter, and sent us to the ER. At the ER, the doctor was shocked that they hadn't at least given her a breathing treatment before sending her on.

We went to the Urgent Care earlier this month. DH was playing hopscotch in the UK & managed to break his foot. (It's ok, go ahead & laugh. I do! ) Anyhow, we managed to make it to first aid (which, btw, he hopped down the hill to the IG where they gave us a wheelchair. I kind of thought they would've been more helpful, but whatever.) Urgent care came & picked us up at the first aid center. They were very pleasant and helpful. They were able to x-ray it and do a temporary wrap on it that held his foot in place until we could meet with our own orthopedic a few days later.

Our 2007 trip we stayed at Pop and DD (7 at the time) had a double ear infection as well as a minor vomiting virus. A van came and picked up DH and DD, took them to the urgent care, took them to Walgreens for meds and brought them back. The transportation was free, the urgent care was about double what I'd pay at home. Still, DD went from puny and pitiful one day to able to hit the parks the next. And miraculously, none of the rest of us got the virus!
