Anyone use Uber to get around?

Hey y'all! Wondering if anyone uses Uber to get from hotel to the park instead of the transportation? We understand disney transportation i's free, but are afraid of the waiting times and having to be up an hour earlier than normal.

We used Uber during our short stay last November. The drivers were exceptionally nice and friendly, the cars were clean and on time. I loved being able to see if there were Drivers near me on the app. You get a detail of the driver, their picture, their make and model of their car and I think plate number ( not entirely sure on that one). I was mentioning it to someone in line at Fantasmic and the woman was visibly against the idea of using Uber vs a taxi because "you just don't know who you are getting in a car with".... well the same could be said for a taxi driver too. I know that Uber was going through some court proceedings, especially in Florida, so I'd check to make sure that Uber is still available in the Orlando area.

Remember, if you take either Uber or a taxi to the Magic Kingdom, they must drop you off at the Ticket and Transportation Center. You must then take a boat or the monorail to the MK from there. You could have them drop you off at the Contemporary and then walk to the MK (10 minute walk).

We are thinking of using uber to get from our off site hotel to dinner at disney resorts during our upcoming trip. I was wondering if anyone that has used uber in and around WDW could tell me how acurate their fare estimates are and how often the surge pricing happens?

The crowd level has increased during our trip which has me concerned about always waiting for (sometimes two full buses to come and go) a bus that is packed with too many people. My friend uses Uber around Baltimore and recommended it to me. Packed to over capacity buses tend to happen when returning from a park, at least this is when I can't handle it. I'm staying at an Epcot resort, so I'd need alternate transportation from MK or from AK. What is the best pickup location from these parks? Is it from Contemporary and from AK entrance?

We used the contemporary for our pick up spot from MK and it worked fine for us. We didn't visit AK on this last trip so can't help you out on that one.
