I saw that the wii can be used now for streaming movies in?
Do you like it, any problems or complaints?
Don't really know how it works, but we are thinking of trying netflix, we have such a huge cable bill, and it seems like there are never movies on HBO etc that we feel like watching, we always end up paying for the "on demand" movies, so I spend like $140-150 a month for our cable bill.
part of that is internet but the tv part is probably about $100

my only problem is I cannot cancel HBO til True Blood is over :)

We love it! Netflix will send you a disc for the Wii. The disc must be in the Wii in order to stream. You need high speed Internet or wireless (we have wireless). You add your movies/tv shows to your Instant que - you can also add/delete using the Wii remote.

I have it and I love it. The only small drawback is not all the movies are available for instant streaming. But there are alot of great and not so great titles to choose from.

So it sounds like it was easy to set up? we have wireless in the house
I muddle thru anything technology related.......LOL

so if they aren't available for streaming does that mean you can get them on dvd via mail?

I just got my Wii disc last week and love it. It is very easy to set up, since you have wireless it will detect it and you just connect through that.

Movies that aren't available through streaming you will get via mail. I will say that there is a delay in some new releases being available through Netflix, but that has something to do with the movie production companies and not Netflix. I have found that most new or recent releases are not available through streaming, but think maybe as it becomes more popular that may change.

We use the Wii for streaming and it works just fine. My husband set it up and I didn't see him get frustrated so it must have been easy.

Yes, you can get anything that doesn't stream on DVD, but as you probably know, it will count towards your DVD limit (what ever you have set up).

For those that stream, check the site regularly. They keep adding more and more to it.

We dropped DirecTv last year (but we have it back for now....they just won't let us go!) and started streaming and we love it.:goodvibes

I just got the cd for the wii and haven't set it up yet. I have a question...how does it work with your queue? or do you pay extra for the streaming? I'm not really sure how it works at all. we have 3 movies out at a time, if we have all 3 movies out, do we get to watch some with streaming or only after we send one back. and how do we not have them send the next one in the queue and watch it via streaming instead?

I love it. But I can't figure out if its possible to have subtitles on the streamed videos? Has anyone else figured that out?

The streamed are unlimited. So I pay $8 for 1 disc out, so they send me 1 movie at a time but we watch as much as we want thru the Wii. :) I just watched Julia & Julia, and the kids love being able to watch Arthur anytime!

We love it! The only issue that I can see is the parental block is for the entire netflix so once you start a movie they can stop it and go to another one that might not be appropriate. Just food for thought.

We are loving it. Set up couldn't have been easier. Just put the disk in the Wii. Done. All of the titles available for instant viewing on the site are available for the Wii. There are a number of TV series available (Lost, The Office, etc.). We are loving it!

If you have the 3 out at a time plan you can watch an unlimited amount of streaming video on Wii and/or computer and still have 3 disks out.

To change what they send you, just go to your queue and delete it off if you don't want them to send the disk. Not everything on disk is available on streaming though. You can tell easily on the site what can be put in the instant queue vs. what can only be put in the DVD queue.

We have it, but DH does not like the quality that it plays in. He spent last weekend trying to hook it up to our surround sound, but the video quality isn't that good. Is there an HD video cable to use with the Wii??

We have it. I've used it for workout videos and the kids have watched some movies. We have the $8/1 dvd plan so being able to watch unlimited streaming is nice.

We love it too. We also have the disc for our PS3 but it doesnt work as well as the Wii.

All of our special pricing just ended through Directv and the bill doubled, so we reduced all the extras and are on the cheapest Netflix for a substantial savings.

We are really enjoying it. The kids love pulling up streamed movies. So easy my DS5 showed me how to do it. We do it through the Wii and PS3 both with no problems. Streamed movies are majority old, but it is fun to think of things you would like to see again. We have 100 movies saved to get the CD of and a good 60 saved in streaming.

question.........can you stream the movies thru the wii and also do it on the computer too?
or do you have to chose one way to stream

Not sure if you can stream 2 devices at the same time, but you CAN stream to a computer and a Wii - I do it all the time.
