Just got one in my never ending quest for the perfect WDW bag. From Target clearance at $7.99. "outdoor products" brand witha very roomy pouch and a bottle holder on each side with a 21 oz sports bottle.

Has anyone used this type in the parks? What do you pack in them? Are they comfy?
Thanks for helping me in my quest. :D

I have a Eddie Bauer one that I got at Target. We fill the two bottles from the cold water fountains once we get thirsty. Don't fill them automatically at first--they can be heavy. Only fill them halfway. That's all you'll use before you find another fountain. Take the little individual packs of Crystal Light and add to the water sometimes for a nice, cool drink.

My Nikon SLR camera fits in mine--for water rides and such. I take Advil, bandaids, autograph books, pens, $, tickets, and fastpasses--Yes, I'm packed up as if I'm moving

The point is that they can hold a lot of stuff.

We use ours from Target. I however refuse to wear it. I mean, I do not need more "wide load" risk.. It hold everything we need. My favorite tip is use the "on the go " crystal light packs. We love the lemon tea.

I bought a "deluxe" type from Eastern Mountain Sports and found that having both bottles really weighed it down and made it difficult to fit on some rides. Hehe, I also dealt with wet spots on the front and sides of my shorts as the ice and water condensed in the heat - it felt good, but looked very bad! Luckily, my children discovered that they didn't mind the drinking fountain water, so I stopped carrying the "monster" pack. I think it would work better for us as a hiking tool rather than for parks like WDW.

I did not even think about the wet spots from condensation. Luckily my DD is still too young to be embarassed by mom. :D I still just cant decide on this one.

I have one from Eastern Mountain Sports. It holds a lot of stuff! Autograph book, sun screen, rain ponchos, snacks, camera, film. I found it to be great when DD was young, held everything we needed and then some. I would wear it sort of loose, this way when getting on a ride I was able to pull it around in front of me. Never had a problem with it.

I have a holster style Columbia (or Northface) single water bottle one. I used it on our Ma 2004 trip and loved it. It was very comfortable and there wasn't any problems with condensation. I suggest that you wear it around the house a bit to see how it feels and fits your shape. I tried several before I found one that felt "just right".

 I have this same one and I love it. I don't carry water bottles into the park. I buy disposable bottles of water as needed and carry them while we are drinking them, sometimes refilling them at waterfountains. I also like the water bottle pockets for our disposable ponchos after we've worn them...just roll 'em up and stuff them in the pockets til you need them again.

No, it doesn't look great, but who cares? You are on vacation. Hardly anyone you know is going to see you. The Disney Photographers will delicately suggest you take off the fannypack and put it down before they take your picture. :earboy2:

Function over vanity!

I was thinking if DD5 carries her own kid pack that comes with waterbottle that I could use the extra water bottle holder area for my camera or phone or something useful. Just call me a multi-tasker. :D I think you guys have convinced me to at least give it a try. I am still probably going to take the backpack/cooler combo pack for those long days but for a shorter 1/2 day i will try it!

Often I just carry a collapsible bottle rather than deal with a bulky hard bottle getting in the way. I just fill it when I need it then flatten it up and get it out of the way when I don't. I sometimes use 1 or 2 Platypus bottles when I hike.

Is a collapsible bottle the same as a platypus bottle?

"Platypus" is just the name of the manufacturer of the bottles I bought.
