Anyone use disposable aprons?

DD is 4 and DS is 2 and they often wear an apron at home when eating messy food like spaghetti bolognese, soup, beans, etc. as it usually ends up all down the front of them. Are there any good disposable aprons out there, or any good tips to keep hem (relatively) clean while eating out at parks and restaurants?

It's DS I'm more concerned about, but I don't want to use bibs. Thanks!

I haven't seen any there, but honestly never looked. Can you get some here and take them with?

Can't say I have ever looked as DD hasn't worn a bib since she was a baby however I can't say that I have ever seen anything in the menus in Disney that I would have considered her needing one for ;)

Pasta tends to be the small pieces (usually mickey shaped) and they don't really do beans. Soup I can only remember seeing chicken noodle for kids and that is a clear broth.

I think if she need anything it was just a tuck a napkin in the top job :rotfl:

Spare T-shirt in the dad-bag is the way we've always dealt with it.

As the day goes on, a pretty large proportion of small children have some sort of muck on them anyway. With ice cream, brightly coloured lollies and slushes everywhere, it's pretty inevitable.

Beware of Mickey Premium Bars. My DD was not the least bit messy, but those never failed to disappoint  You hand the child the icecream, grab the camera and count down ..... 3,2,1 ........... splat. Chocolate covered icecream in the Florida heat = the work of the dark side!

I read a tip on here about using the plastic disposable soda cup lids for this (the ones you can get at any QS food place). Turn them upside down and stick the Popsicle stick through and you have something to catch the dripping ice cream!

Or just don't give them ice cream and hand them an apple instead...or am I just being cruel!!!! :rotfl: I love the Mickey Bars but even I end up with it on my attire somewhere, my DH is always tutting at me!!!;)

A filthy child is a happy child. They are on holiday if they spill it doesn't really matter. Of course I can say that we have DVC so always have a washer dryer and it is usually within 5 minutes of getting back.

The mess doesn't bother me, just didn't want the poor things all grubby for the rest of the day.

But like others have said, the food options probably don't cause much mess anyway, just the ice cream. We always carry spare clothes anyway, so maybe an extra t-shirt too.

Thanks :)

I know some people put an extra t-shirt on kids before they eat especially if the one they are wearing is their new favourite one (spag bol sauce is the worst!) If they use wipe clean tabards at home they could easily be used and cleaned with wipes. Now dealing with a kid that is sick on flights that is another matter. Specially when you haven't packed a spare set of clothes for yourself!
