Anyone use Discover MILES to fly????

We are thinking about changing to the MILES card, as they no longer offer the 5% on gas.

Does anyone here have any experience with this?
How has it worked out?

We would be wanting to use this to fly to ALASKA to cruise in a year or two.

Have you thought about American Express Delta Sky Miles. They have a promotional period that doubles miles on certain purchases for the first year; groceries, home improvements, etc and no membership fee. It used to be a great card. Now its a good card because it no longer doubles miles for long term users unless they are running a special. This summer they ran a Delta Bounce back promotion. Redeem a minimum of 10K and earn double miles. I redeemed 10K on $100 worth of Macy's gift cards, bought my Fiesta ware and then used my card for the remodeling of the kitchen; cabinets, some appliances, wood, electrical supplies, plumbing, etc.etc. That gives me at least one ticket to Hawaii when we are ready to go back.
