I was just wondering if anyone had 1st hand experience with the kids camp at the Portifino? How far in advance do you need to book? What kind of activities do they have?

Thanks Leah for asking. I'm wondering myself. I have a daughter, will be almost 11 when we go in two weeks and she is begging to go to the kids' club. She has done a night or two at WDW kids club but they are about 1/2 the price -- one of the few things I find cheaper than Universal.

Anyone?????

Any chance you have a child in the same age group going anytime from 2/20-25? Daughter would love to make a friend at PBH as it is she, myself, DS18 and his DGF and I don't expect to see too much of them, lol.

If anyone has used any of the Kids Clubs at the Universal Hotels, I'm sure they are very similar, please let us know how they are.

We've used three different kids clubs and my daughter has enjoyed them all. We would rank them Club Dolphin #1, Hard Rock #2, Beach Club #3. The PB kids club was closed when we were there, so they sent us over to The Hard Rock. When you figure in dinner, Hard Rock was the most expensive. Club Dolphin was by far my daughters favorite. They bring the kids to a restaraunt for dinner, and the staff was outstanding. That being said I don't think you can go wrong with any of the three above.

We used Camp Portofino once back in August, 2006 for DD7 and DD5 (at the time). Kids enjoyed it. We made advance reservations, but the place was empty (except for one kid who was there for the fourth straight night :sad1: :sad1: ).

Only issue we had - it was EXPENSIVE. $12/hour per kid AND we had to pay an additional 10 or 12 dollars for each meal. We left our kids for 2 1/2 hours and the person charged us for 3 hours. Also, they accept tips so this was an additional $15. Ended up being about $100.

My experience, WDW kids clubs are nicer and cheaper (meal is included, they cannot accept tips, and they do not charge for the extra incremental time - 2 1/2 means 2 1/2 (or sometimes only 2 hours).

My two kids have been to Campo Portofino several times in 2007. My kids love going there. They played with computers and did arts and crafts. There are lots of toys and movies.

I've done disney's kids clubs also. Expecially the Sand Castle Club in the Beach club.

I was annoyed about paying the additional $12 per child for dinner at Campo Portofino. At disney kids clubs I think they included it in the price.

I was not aware you could tip them at Campo Portofino. I never had. It never even accured to me to do that. I never saw anything or even heard about tipping them.
