I am in the "dreaming stage" of planning our next trip.
If all works out as I so hope it does, it will be the first time we are all together is soo long! :grouphug: DH, myself, kids and grandkids.
6 adults
(1) 9 year old
(1) 5 year old
(1) 2 year old

Since we would be picking up the tab for everyone, we would have to cut costs where ever possible-and definitely want to have the dining plan.
After crunching some numbers, I was pleasantly surprised! :goodvibes
So pleasantly surprised that I feel I may have not crunched the numbers correctly?! (Of course, these are just rough numbers for now-no taxes, etc)
So, this is what I have so far....

6 DAYS/ 5 NIGHTS

3 ROOMS (a must!)AT A VALUE RESORT in value season = $1200.-

BASE TICKETS (no park hoppers) = $1490.-

DINING PLAN = $1150.-

FOR A TOTAL OF $3840.00

What you do think?!

How long are you going for?

How are you getting there?

One word... TAX! That will add a couple hundred to your hotel cost alone.

So true! I figured at 12 %, the tax on the 3 rooms would be about $144. Although I am not sure of the exact tax rate as different resorts have different tax rates since they are actually in different FL counties. :)

I didn't crunch your numbers, but the allstars have different tax rates, the movies, music and sports are more than pop century. The reason is that the resorts are in different counties. You may want to consider pop for that reason alone...... if it makes a difference, if not, well then you have 4 to choose from!!

Did you check to see how much the MYW package is? or did you do it all seperate?

EDITED - OK, I went and crunched some numbers, did you get your totals from the disney website? Anyway, this is what I come up with..........

6 days/5nights, Value Resort, Value Season, Dining Plan -------- you may also want to note that you CANNOT get the dining plan unless you get a package.

3 Rooms - $1,339.20
Tickets - 6 adult/2kids/ 6 days no hoppers - $1,586.86 TAX included
Dining Plan - $1,248.00 - again not avail. unless you book a package.

The total I come up with is $4,174.06.

I also did the package and the total came up to $4,175.66 SO, I would assume that once you add taxes to the other total, you'll come up with the same amount. Unless you opt to NOT add dining, then that's what you will pay. If you choose to do that you can use your AAA discount and perhaps save, but unless there is a room code or something then you really won't save any money. I'd say if you must have the dining plan, then go with the package.

I hope I did your numbers right, I used 6 days/5 nights, 6 adults, 2 kids, the 2 yr. old is free......... :earsboy:

One annual pass will get you the Best Rate Program hotel rate for up to 3 rooms. One adult AP will run you around $420 for the 4 major parks. I checked the hotel rates under BRP for you in value season for next year. Right now the BRP is only avail thru feb, so I checked 2/8-2/13 (value season) for one room at ASMo the standard room price for 5 nights is $333.40 (Tax included).

The AP will also get you some merchandise and resturant discounts that can usually be used for up to a party of 10. AP gets 10% off, but the selected resturants list is small and is mostly downtown disney. You can also get a Disney Dinning Experience card at the discounted rate of $50 (instead of $75) as an AP holder which will get you 20% virtually all table service resturants in the parks, resorts, and downtown disney. The discount is good for up to 10 people, and would save you quite a bit of $ for a party that sized.

Just something else to think about! :teeth:

Its also good at CS restaurants at the Value resorts since they don't have TS restaurants there.
I see you want a Value resort. Go for Pop because All-Stars might have some kind of sports tournament booked. They usually do during value season.

Join AAA - even on the package with dining you can save 20% (on the room portion of your package) during Value season at a Value Resort AAA also gives you a card for a 10% discount at the World of Disney Store in DTD and a small discount at some DTD restaurants (just in case you need an extra meal).

Thanks for all the great info, PirateGirl! It is greatly appreciated!! :bounce: :bounce:

if you haven't go to www.allearsnet.com and look at the dining menus....the dining plan may be your best bet depending on what you might normally eat...we alsways eat 2 meals aday and that would be plenty of food for us. the ap meal card might work better for you if you want 3 meals a day, it's kind of a personal thing. we are doing this same thing for our 30th anniversay next yr same amount of adults 1 less kid and so far it seems about ball park of what i have estimated
