i am considering booking our next cruise while onboard Magic.

i found the Windjammer cruises and it looks pretty cool. tops 100 people, barefeet the whole time, sleeping on deck, diving off the ship and swimming to the deserted beaches, bathing suits at dinner.

i want something family/kid friendly. they have summer kids cruises. i was curious if anyone had sailed with them?

i've heard two downside things...some of the cabins smell musty and they are unsatisfactory on their CDC inspection..76 on the Legacy(trip we would do). mostly food stuff, cleanliness & storage....which scares me. ....Disney is 97 & 98(i think).

now please don't get me wrong...i am not a foo foo kinda person. i don't walk around with a white glove. we have horses and i know how to play in the dirt but i like to know that i am eating off clean tablewear. :smooth:

any input??

Hi I did a Windjammer cruise about 20+ years ago. It was fun but I was 21. Plenty of singles and young couples. At that time it was not a family friendly cruiseline. The cabins are very tiny compared to what you get on DCL. Also I don't even remember which ship I was on but remember it is a Sailing vessel and no stablizers so you do rock alot! I hope they have a family friendly ship now but like I said most of the time it was young singles and couples.

We took a 14 day Windjammer cruise through the Grenadines about 10 years ago. It was a wonderful trip, my wife's favorite and in my top 5. There was only one kid on the ship, but that may be because it was a two week cruise. There also wasn't much hard partying going on, probably for the same reason. The average age was about 35, I'd say.

We were pretty much barefoot for the entire time. Food was OK. One downside is that the only air-conditioned areas are the cabins. It was really hot (this was November, too), and it would have been nice to grab some A/C without having to go to our room. There wasn't even a whisper of a breeze the whole time, which made things even hotter. But the ship was very stable as a result.

It was a whole lot of fun. I think kids would love it too.
