I've tried the California Cobb three times and they are pretty good. I just have one complaint. On the commercial it says they have a variety of baby greens, but all I ever get is 100% iceberg lettuce. I do think that for $4.69 you should at least get something besides head lettuce. The Caesar dressing is great though!!

Do they have any light or fat free dressings?????? I want to try one but I have to be sure on the dressing first.

I've been pretty pleased with the ones I've had recently -- I noticed a pretty good variety of greens in the ones I've eaten too. Not sure why yours would have all iceberg -- maybe they didn't get a shipment of greens in that day?

Haven't had one yet. Everybody tells me they are awesome. Think I will go get one for lunch today. Crispy Bacon Ranch sounds yummy! :teeth:

They are good but be careful on the dressing....even their low fat dressing had SEVEN grams! Hellloooo, that is *not* low fat. I take my own dressing and get the grilled instead of fried chicken on top...it's not too bad.

I read somewhere that the fried chicken salad with their ranch dressing has MORE fat grams than l Big Mac.

We always liked their small house salads and usualyy skip dressing.
Do they still sell those?

herc.

Okay, just finished the Crispy Bacon Ranch one and it was delicious. Salad dressing says it has 30 grams of fat! Yikes! My only pet peeve was the chicken was not cut up. Other than that, it was very good! ;)

I had a caesar one for lunch with the grilled chicken- delicious!! I heard that the bacon ranch with crispy chicken has 60 g of fat! OUCH!!

   Wow! I thought those Wendy's salads were bad at 22 - 25 g of fat.

I try to keep a couple of fat free salad dressing packets in my bag, but when all else fails I just suffer and go without. If I'm going to have 60g of fat it's going to be on something much better tasting than a salad. :p :p

I still prefer Wendy's salads. I don't usually use the dressing that come with the McD's or Wendy's salads, and in the rare times I do, just a little dab, the calories and fat will get you.

Well, technically, the OP didn't ask if they were healthy -- just whether they were good or not! :p :teeth:

McDonald's Premium Salads:

Grilled Chicken Bacon Ranch Salad: 270 calories, 13 g fat
Grilled Chicken California Cobb Salad : 280 calories, 14 g fat
Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad: 210 calories, 7 g fat

For the Crispy Chicken version of each of these, figure an additional 100 calories and 9 g fat.

Salad Dressings (The packets are pretty large, I only use 1/2 a packet):

Newman's Own Cobb Dressing: 120 cal, 9 g fat
Newman's Own Creamy Caesar Dressing: 190 cal, 18 g fat
Newman's Own Light Balsamic Vinaigrette: 90 cal, 8 g fat
Newman's Own Ranch Dressing: 290 cal, 30 g fat (not a typo!!)

So a Crispy Chicken California Cobb Salad with the Ranch Dressing will set you back a whopping 670 cal & 53 g fat, while a Grilled Chicken Caesar with half a packet of Light Balsamic Vinaigrette is a relatively light 255 cal, 11 g fat.

What have we learned? Just because it says SALAD doesn't mean it's low fat/calorie!

I like the Chicken Ceasar, I wasn't crazy about the Cobb

Geez, Kathy, thanks for bursting my bubble ;)

In any case, I am eating more low carb, and the caesar dressing is only 4 carbs. (I am trying to look on the bright side here...)

I've had the Crispy Bacon Ranch salad twice. Both times it has various types of lettuce as the commercial states and is very good!

Although it may be high in fat grams, it is very low in carbs.

...it all depends on what you watch. Fat vs. carbs.

I think Cobb salad is traditionally made with iceberg lettuce, isn't it? Maybe the other salads have mixed greens but the Cobb just has iceberg. That said, I have had the California Cobb twice and don't remember what type of lettuce was in it! It was really good, though :D

:teeth: Just trying to spread a little sunshine, Jill!!!!

I LOVE the Grilled Chicken Bacon Ranch and my dd likes the Crispy Chicken Bacon Ranch. Even though they have more calories and possibly fat than a Big Mac - at least you are getting more veggies than you would a Big Mac. I think the dressings are good but I don't like Balsamic Vinegarette so I either have to take my own or just eat theirs.

I like the Grilled Chicken Bacon Ranch Salad. I've brought it home and used my own ranch dressing. I didn't know that Newman's Ranch was so high fat!
