Anyone try for Sci-Fi ADR - for next week?

We already have an ADR for the Sci-Fi on Wed. 8/16 because DS wants that to be the first thing he does for his birthday celebration. However, I'm becoming (obsessively?) concerned with making my connecting flight and getting to WDW on time (arriving MCO in plenty of time, but not if I miss it!). I'm considering calling back and trying to change my 3:00 lunch to a late dinner just in case - or better yet, just add the late dinner and cancel it as soon as we arrive if I can get there for lunch. I know it's poor practice to book this way, but with the airline hassles I'm going crazy! Should I just let it go and hope to walk in for dinner if we need to? How crowded has the Sci-Fi been?

I just booked one for the 20th. I wanted lunch so it was either 11:00 or 2:30. Since I have MM FP at 6:00, I took the 11;00

To answer my own question...

I did call and asked about a dinner ADR, but the entire week is already booked for dinner. I did manage to get a late lunch ADR for later in our trip. If I get there late, we won't get to do Sci-Fi first as DS wanted, but at least we will be able to eat there!

On the bright side, I also confirmed the other ADR's and all were correct. Well, except for a breakfast at Boatwright's that I needed to cancel - we were down for dinner instead - whoops! The CM and I chuckled at the fact that the only mistake was the one ADR I planned to cancel anyway! Phew!

The CM, Pauline, was wonderful, btw. She knew what she was doing, and was friendly and gracious throughout the call.

I just went on Tuesday.

I asked guest services @ ssr on the Sunday if there were any places and we got 2pm exactly what we wanted.



We loved it bye the way.
