Anyone try "EasyStraight" hair straightener?

I have not tried it but saw them both the last time I was in Wlagreens. Very tempting! Waiting to see if anyone out there has tried it...

I'm thinking of trying it after next weekend (too many public activities for next weekend, and I don't want to risk doing it beforehand!). I'll let you know how it goes.

Well, I bought the kit last night and my cousin helped me with the application. I cannot wash my hair for 2 days, so I'll have a better handle on the results by Thursday. So far, my hair is feeling smoother. There still is a small bit of curl. I expected this since each time I have had my hair straightened at the salon, there is a bit of curl. My main goal is to get some of the frizz out and some of the curl out.

It helped to have someone else put the cream in my hair. You have to work quickly and it can be hard to get the back section by yourself. So far, so good!

OMG, HOW did I miss this post!!!

If you have not done this yet DO NOT use it!!!! RUNNNNNN in the other direction as fast as you can. I used the 1 week version and it ruined my hair. It is breaking and splitting everywhere. Several people on Makeup Alley also had horrible experiences.

This is one of the WORST products EVER made. If you must straighten your hair, get a Chi (or similar) flat iron. Just don't use EasyStraight!

Here are some posts of bad experiences from Makeup Talk:

I have friends, with very curly hair, who swear by Paul Mitchell's "Heat Seal". They say when they use it, either blow drying or with a straightening iron, their hair doesn't get curly or frizzy. They also say it is actually humidity resistant!! :cool1:

Anything you use chemical wise to straighten your hair will cause damage. The amount of damage is based on a number of things- the condition of your hair first, the process, and the chemicals used.

I have had my hair professionally straightened 3 times with the CHI system. The first time I lost probably 20% of my hair to breakage. The 2nd and 3rd time, probably 10%..

I am due now for the 4th (started almost 3 years ago) it lasts about 8 months on my hair. I have decided to not go again...financial and hair loss reasons lol...

I now use my CHI iron, and CHI's thermal spray. My hair is just as straight after using the iron as it is when they straighten it- just takes me about 15 minutes to do. after knowing what happens with professional chemicals, and a professional 'installation' on my head, there is NO way I would use a home box to do this.

Basically your stripping your hair of ALL things- including those that protect the shaft. Then chemically changing it- then trying to put the protection back on the shaft....

Please do some research on any straightening product you are going to use....

Well, I applied the product on Tuesday and am so far happy with the results. I have not seen any breakage and my hair is quite smooth. The frizz has tamed down, too. I am crossing my fingers I do not have a delayed reaction.

I asked my stylist about chemical straigtening--she said it was BAD to do.

So I won't be trying the over the counter route.

I asked my hairdresser about it. She never heard of that particular product, but said that hair straighteners are the strongest chemicals for hair that there are. :( Darn. I hope by the time I retire to the Florida humidity in 20 years, they come up with a cure for bad hair days.

I found my cure for Florida humidity, it's called a "baseball hat" :lmao:
sadly there is nothing else that works for my curly frizzy hair
