We are going in on Oct. 8th and are wondering if we should try the dinner theater, Dixie Stampede. We would be going with our 3 year old twins who love animals. Any opinions? What time is the show over? Thanks, Linda

I liked it. A lot, actually. I saw the Christmas show, and liked that, too.

If you think you'll like it, you probably will. But if you don't, you might not. Here's the link: http://www.dixiestampede.com/showtime.php

I'd still rather do the Hoop-Dee-Doo, though!

My DM, DD and I went in 2004 on NYE for the Christmas show - it was spectacular. We really enjoyed it - of course at Christmas they changed the show a bit with a live Nativity.

The horses are spectacular.

The show is about 2 hours.

We attended Dixie Stampede in Myrtle Beach, SC last summer. A fantastic show, great food BUT no utensils to each with.....with young children you would likely have some extra wipes in your purse, right? Lots of food, too, and all of it can be eaten with your hands....it's excellent but we were rather surprised by the lack of "weapons" to dine with. The show is great, moves quickly and has audience interaction. It has a Disney style price tag and they make a family picture when you come in...which of course we bought...and then you must enter the pre-show area through the gift shop....and then exit through the gift shop as well....a strategically planned tourist trap! But we enjoyed it very much.

I was leaving the no utensils as a surprise.......like the rest of us -
That's how the other dinner shows (Arabian Nights and Medieval Times) are as well I believe.

Been twice - once in Pigeon Forge and this past August in Myrtle Beach. My 4 year old niece loved it. The only problem we had was trying to get her to eat instead of focusing totally on the show.:)

Ditto! We have also done Medival Times in Chicagoland and enjoyed it too!

I am about 10 minutes out from Pigeon Forge, TN and have been many times- It is a great show even I'll admit (being a local to it all- and being a local to Dolly- since it is her show!)

Go see it- what the heck!

Only been to the one at Myrtle Beach many moons ago, but I loved it. As other posters have said the horses are wonderful. That was the whole reason for going for me and it was well worth it!! My only concern now is that then they only had Coke products to drink and I need to drink milk now because of my diabetes so not sure if I could go again!! But I would love to now that it is so close and in Orlando. We'll see whether I can talk my DH into going wih me next trip!!

My family went to the Dixie Stampede in Orlando in August of 2004. We all liked the show and the food.

We went to Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge in 1989. My DH and I were chosen to take part in the skit-my kids loved it. I still have the souvenir bandanas we were given for participating somewhere in the attic. It was a lot of fun and the food was pretty good too. Have a great time!!

We were just at Dixie Stampede in July 2006 and we loved it! My DS10 and DD6 had a great time and want to go back everytime we go back to Orlando they say. The food was really good and the show was great. They do now have forks for dinner. My DF and DSM (who have been to the show many times) say that it is because so many people were bringing in plastic silverware to eat with. I think your kids will really enjoy the show if they love animals. It may be hard to get them to eat because they will be too into the show.

Have a great time!!
