DH and I are coming down in May for a convention and wondering if anyone tried Palio's at the Swan ? it sounds great but would love to hear your reviews...

Don't you hate when people who haven't been to a restaurant add their two cents' worth?! I do -- but I'm doing it anyway!
A buddy at work (who cooks and is very into food) said it was his best experience at a Disney restaurant. Nothing but good things to say. Only reason we haven't tried it is because with three kids, we're afraid it would blow through our budget.

I have eaten at Palio several times (most recently two weeks ago). It is a very nice Italian restaurant. Food is very good, wine list is nice and the service is great. It is never been very crowded on any of my visits (which is a plus) and it is within wlaking distance of the YC (where we always stay; another plus). All in all, an excellent dining experience.

Thanks for your two cents CD & Kids ! much appreciated...we will give it a try then. After a long day of driving it will be nice to sit down to a wonderful Italian meal...

We'll be staying at the Dolphin in May and I was also considering this restaurant. I was wondering if those of you who have been have noticed whether there were many children in the restaurant? We'll have our 2 year old with us, who is generally well behaved in restaurants but I don't want to feel awkward if he's the only little one there. Thanks!

thanks Judi, my reservations are made! wonderful review & I will ask for Nick if he is still there!!

:thumbsup2 We tried it in December and enjoyed it so much we went back two more times. We had fish, steak and pasta dishes, dessert too. The tiramisu was prepared tableside and was very good. We had a 5 month old and 8 year old and did not have any problems. They were very accommodating one night when the baby was asleep and gave us a table where we could take the stroller in. All 3 times, many kids were there. They had a strolling musician that would take requests and told us he could play most Disney tunes. Very nice meals, can't wait to go back next month.

Hello!

I was there three weeks ago and we had a lovely meal. My Mom and I split a salad and a pizza, so our meal was only about $30!!! Everything came split for us on separate plates, I was very impressed. The only downside was that it was PACKED due to a convention, so it was very loud and busy. The food was great though! The only food we had that was better was at the Cali Grill. Enjoy!

We love Palio and we pretty much eat here at least once each trip. In fact we ask for our favorite (silly) waiter, Michaele who is great with kids! He always teases my dd who is 7 and she gets a kick out of it!! So as far as small children here, it's fine. It is a fine dining atmosphere so it is "laid back", but certainly "kid-friendly". We've been bringing dd here since she was 2. We see many families with kids here.

I have had many of the dishes here and think they have the best Italian dishes on property however they do have other excellent choices. I had a "filet" special that was to die for last visit (in December). And, even their pizza is excellent. The lobster and tortellini dish is excellent (2 can easily split) and we've also enjoyed a snapper special. So, there is quite a variety. If you don't see something on the kids menu you can request it because they have access to kids' items Gulliver's serves.

We give PALIO...:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 out of 4!!!!

We ate there a couple of years ago and loved our food and the service( the only problem was the horribly behaved children at the next table- they ran around tables screamed and totally disturbed everyone around them, while the group of adults they were with just ignored the behavior. Even the waitstaff/manager apologized for the disturbance, but I guess there was nothing they could do about it. Too bad, because otherwise it would have been our most enjoyable dining experinence that trip . My daughter still raves about the pasta dish she had there!

We ate there in January...it was a wonderful restaurant, the food was excellent, and the wait staff was excellent also. In January, however we had DMIL (83) with us (her first time to WDW) and she's not used to Disney prices or eating gourmet meals (likes to stick to her old fav's - Veal Parmigiana, or NY Pizza -plain, cheese, not to thin of a crust)....anyway, DH and I plan on going back on one of our next trips down to really get to enjoy the restaurant!

We had Christmas dinner there last December and it was one of the best WDW dining experiences we had in a long time. Service is very good and the food is great, especially the lobster ravioli. I don't recall what anyone else at the table had since I was so preoccupied with my own meal.

thanks Madalex, what did you try if you dont mind me asking?

I had a caprese salad (tomatos, mozzarella cheese, fresh basil and olive oil) and a tortellini with lobster in a cream sauce. Both were very good.

Kids enjoyed the pizza and chicken parmesan.
