Anyone tried CRT Lunch ???

There is always something on these boards that amuses me. I'll preface this by saying I have 2 DD's (2.5 and 5) and they are a little more on the shy side in terms of meeting new people. When any character comes over, gives them a hug, takes a pic and signs their book they seem perfectly happy. I'm just curious when people say character interaction was too brief, what do you expect them to do- talk about Little League? They have hundreds of people to see so they can't really stand around and shoot the breeze about what the Beast is doing in the Castle that week or what the dwarfs are up to. The characters are doing their jobs and trying to see the most people they can see in the short time they are alotted to be in the dining room. Maybe its because I can't imagine that my kids (or myself as an adult) would have a full length conversation with a character while other people are waiting.

I don't believe I was expecting a lecture on the theory of relativity or anything...but some eye contact, a genuine smile, and a nice warm hug (like we recieved from Mickeys and Minnies all over the world) would have suited me just fine...even for them to act like they LOVED the girls outfits (esp the ones that my DD's dressed as (like Cindy and Aurora...) to be somewhat happy and suprised (Yes I know they see thousands of girls every week dressed up but my kids only had ONCE to do this...) I did like Snow White and even Mary Poppins was funny and in character!! She was a hoot...Aurora and Cindy seemed very put off...IMO it was cute enough though. We got the experience anyway...

YES I agree with the above poster about Denise!!! R U D E...I spilled my diet soda and felt like I was being singed with her lazer eyes!! :rotfl:
I actually did not find it funny and she did not bring us all of our required foods (she gave us only 1 adult app and 2 kids app FOR 5 OF US!! I really didn't know if that was standard or not, thinking she might bring more after we finished, NOPE...

as for not having kids, that is ridiculous!!!

We had lunch at CRT in Sept and we were very disappointed with the interactions with the princess. We had breakfast there the year before and had a wonderful time. They seemed EXTREMELY rushed. They would sign the autograph book as fast as they could, pose for a picture and leave. The whole dining experience at lunch was very rushed. My DD's 2 and 5 had been looking forward to meeting the princess for a very long time. We had to get our waitress to get sleeping beauty to come to our table because she forgot to see us.

I know that I will get flamed for this, but you pay a lot of money for this meal, and for us it was not for the food (cold and not worth the money) We paid for our children seeing and experiencing the princess' If the princess' feel like they are so rushed to see all of the patrons, then maybe they should limit how many people they let in the restaurant at a time. Just a thought

I hope you don't get "flamed for this", because you are exactly right.

We had lunch there last Thursday. It was wonderful. The atmosphere is great, our server was wonderful, the food was DELICIOUS and the princesses were just super. I was surprised based on the mixed reviews this receives.

We always like the castle for lunch, we even got in walk in a few times.

I was going to call for PS but we are around the 90 day mark, less then I think and I never get up at 7:00. Is it worth trying after 7:05 in the am like the breakfest?

Never doing the Norway lunch again BTW.

REALLY? Norway was that bad? We were thinking of doing that next year rather than the castle, to mix it up a bit. I heard that the selection of princesses was better and even some princes show up.

We were really unimpressed with the food. I don't normally talk bad about WDW meals. I normally really like them and look forward to them all year. My meal was just bad, it was the only time I ever left a "all you can eat" hungry. I thought chicken salad was safe, no. It was the smallest hard dried tiny chicken breast in the wrold on a scoop of colesalw. I really should of compained, but DD did have fun with the princesses. But then again she did at the judges tent at MK and that didn't cost us anything and was much easier. The service wasn't good, our sevrer acted like we wer bugging him if we wanted anthing more. There was a massive bottle neck trying to get in and you couldn't hear who they were anoucing. It took 30 min just to get seated standing in the hot sun at Norway. That was really bad too. We did get a great table right where the princesses came out. Areil looked good, but I won't pay over $60 for lunch for 2 adults and a child again for just Areil. (and we had DDE.) However I do like CRT so I am willing to do that.

All in all not a magical experince. For the money I have many other places at WDW I want to do again instead. (Lunch cost the same as dinner at Ohannas and that was MUCH better.)

I work with the princesses and I agree that you are paying for a great experience and you deserve to have that. However Disney loves to make money and they will not lower the number of people that come to eat so the princesses can spend more time at a table. I know that sounds awful but it's true. The princesses wish they had time to talk more and visit with the Guests at dining locations but there are just too many people too see and not much time. They always say that they feel too rushed and hate that they only have time for a photo a book (or 10 in some cases which takes up more time at one table and allows less at the others to come after it) and that's all. It has little to do with the characters and everything to do with the restaurant's expectations. The princesses know how much you pay and feel bad rushing a magical experience like CRT or Norway.
