anyone tried AOL to get points?

im thinking of doing the free AOL trial from my points, but im not sure how it works. is it really free? i don't really plan on using it, just want the points . if anyone has done this can you tell me how it works? thanks

if you're talking about mypoints, you can do it, and it works. You just have to make sure to cancel it before you're billed. I've done it before and have done it again recently. Great way to get easy points.
By the way, make sure you keep your welcome to aol email to prove you did it. Sometimes Mypoints is a little slow in giving the points.

When I did this I never fully set up the trial. I had just downloaded the files to my desktop but never "installed" it. When you call to cancel with AOL they will give you a cancellation number. I used that in my email to Mypoints when the 45 day mark came around and the points had not posted.

Funny thing though with having to email them about it they ended up posting the points to my account TWICE a few weeks apart and never took them back. Was worth having to email them for those points.
