Anyone think the Chinese theater in Hollywood Studios needs to go?

With the direction that the park is taking, for me, it seems like an odd structure to have in the park now. With the earful tower gone, and more emphasis being placed on Star Wars, Toy Story, and other Disney Properties do you think the Chinese Theater is just out of place now?

I know you all loved the hat being gone, but it make a bit more sense now to have the hat than the Chinese theater.

No I sure hope not. I don't think the main street and sunset Boulevard would make any sense at all without it there. Plus I love having it there as nod to what the park used to be about. I don't want them to touch the main St or sunset Boulevard at all

I like the Chinese theater but I do think it's losing it's value as an icon with all the surrounding changes.
Personally our family never really gets the vibe of main street there anyways and just pass thru. And (*gasp*) we were one of those families that actually liked the hat - maybe just not the placement of it.

It's the symbol of Hollywood. If you have been to the actual Chinese Theater, it also has the footprints outside.

But the emphasis isn't going to be on Hollywood anymore...what's left of the old park anymore anyway outside of the Great Movie Ride to make the name Hollywood Studios be relevant?

It could use a refurb of it's own, but I still think it fits as a center piece for a lot of different reasons (notably that the Chinese Theater has hosted a lot of past and present Disney premiers).

When you think of Hollywood, you think of movies. They have said there will be a new name and if it has Hollywood in it, it makes sense.

It's not my favorite park icon, but no way does it need to go.

I see what you are saying, but the Chinese Theater has been there since I was a kid. For no other reason, I appreciate the nostalgia :)

with all the changes to this park I hope they keep the front half of the park alone and keep hollywood and sunset boulevardand maybe turn it in to hollywoodland like they have out in California in california adventure park

I like it. Maybe a freshening up would be in order, but it's kind of a cool building.

Nope, it should stay just the way it is. Sure, HS is gearing to newer movies....but they're still movies. And they come out of Hollywood. I'm not sure why one would think it wasn't relevant now.
Contrary to what many think, Star Wars isn't the only worthwhile movie out there. Sure, it's a biggie. But others should be represented too.
And while I liked the Hat as an icon, I hated the placement. Wish it had been elsewhere.

I think it need a good update, most of the movies and actors, people today do not know. Don't know the actors or the movies. I think that time the 30's 40's and 50's maybe the 60's are gone. Need newer movies and an updating

I was assuming the OP was asking about the actual structure (or at least the facade) rather than the attraction itself. I'd be happy to see an improved attraction inside.

I love it!! And I even love the way it is now, it pays tribute to old Hollywood and basically how that empire came about. Yes alot of the young crowd wont know these movies or people, but instead of changing it why shouldn't it be an inspiration to look up old Hollywood movies and indulge yourself in a change of view.

No, I love it. sure its dated but so is IASW, jungle cruise, and spaceship earth.
maybe a update is needed, but not a removal.
