Anyone think new TL ride (CnG) 48" requirement will lower in time?

From what I know about it (which isnt much) is that its not more for height but maturity and body mass (cause 48 kids are usually bigger than 40 kids and can handle things by themselves a bit better)

Since there are no seat belts on this ride, that could have something to do with the height requirement. I believe that it is the manufacturers recommendation that a guest should be 48", not Disney, so like the height requirement on Primeval Whirl, it will remain the same.

That was my thinking exactly. An adult doesn't have an extra arm to wrap around a kiddie, so he/she needs to be capable of holding on for the entire trip.

I wonder what happens when a guest falls out of one of the rafts. Bet it isn't comfortable.

I was chatting about this very thing with a CM a few weeks ago. He said it was the design of the ride and the fact that kids (or anyone) under 48 could slip out. He said he couldn't believe how many parents would argue with him, trying to get their kids on. He said, "I can't believe parents are more concerned with getting on the ride than the safety of their own children."

I guess I was surprised b/c I've heard (read) that this coaster water ride is very similar to rides at other parks with a lower height limit. This watercoaster restriction is 42" but maybe parts being enclosed in fencing has made it safer.

Not a big deal, just thought it might be one of those things that gets lowered to 44 or 46 inches after they have more experience with it. I like that at W&W the multiperson rides kids over 40" can go on as long as they have an adult riding with them (otherwise its 48").
