Anyone think a Price Increase is coming?

With all the buy-backs we are seeing on the thread, does anyone think a Price Increase on DVC Direct Pricing is coming soon?

I think there is a possibility that base prices will increase but incentives brought in to offset.
This entices people to get more points than they need, BWV is $193pp for 150pts or $173pp for 200 points, it means those 50 points are only an extra $113pp.... the sting in the tail is that it’s $400 a year more in dues

It does say that these incentives were valid until 2nd March 2022 with short term offers at AUL, BWV, RIV ending 15th Dec.
However, incentives can remain with base prices still going up.

Pete on this week's show thinks there is one coming in January...

I think we will see January to February too. I think that is when RIV went up.

They will also be putting VGF on sale sometime in the next 3 to 5 months so raising others helps in supporting the pricing they decide for that.

I've felt that DVC isn't done in the short term until they hit $200 at OKW and SSR though it may take two increases to hit that. My guess is one at the end of the year and one in the spring, but I have no basis for that other than a hunch...

As long as they leave AKV alone! Or at least give me a heads up so I can decide if I want to add on more points. I'm hoping that they offer BWV-level discounts when BWV's expire. ;-)

Pretty sure RIV went up in February since we bought in at the lower price in January.

Do they usually give a heads up about price increases? Or are there rumours generally? We're in the market for some direct AKV points, but also not in a rush. I just don't want to end up paying more because I procrastinated.

It's usually a guide making a comment to a disboarder who posts here. I have a hunch there will be more deals on sold out resorts based on speaking with my guide a few weeks ago...though it was just my impression and not based on anything he actually said LOL!

I have the same feeling. I think they are testing out how well BWV sells with this special they are running and will rotate resorts based off of how well this sale goes. This may give them the ok to raise all prices close to that $200 mark and then run specials throughout the year where buying a certain amount will get the price reduced.

You finished my thought!

The direct price went from $170 per point at OKW to $180 this past September.

nothing would surprise me at this point. I've only been paying attention since May 2016, and the difference in prices (both direct and resale) between now and then defy all basic logic.

At that time, I believe direct pricing was:

VGC - $185
BLT - $185
VGF - $185
BCV - $165
BWV - $155 (it might have been the same as BCV)
SSR - $120ish?

I think PVB (which was the active sale at the time) was around $150 plus incentives.

As far as resale prices (for 150+ point contracts) -- my memory from May 2016 was that...

VGF -- between $140-$145 (although some did get theirs under $130) -- it was never ROFRd back then.
VGC -- $145ish
BLT -- anywhere between $105-$120
BCV -- $100-$110
BWV -- $95-$105
SSR -- $72-$85
AKV -- $82-$95 (I didn't pay much attention so this one could be way off)
VWL - $80-$90

With all the OKW buybacks, I was surprised they offered Boardwalk. Perhaps OKW will be next. ???

I did some analysis earlier in the year which shows historical Direct/Resale pricing, the 2021 resale figures need updating though
