We are at the HRH now.
On Friday night they slipped a note under the door telling guests they would be opening the ballrooms to show movies and games for the kds. The houskeeping would also be a limited service (no change of bed sheets etc) No room service. There was a live rock band in the lobby.
Yesterday morning I went down to the lobby and security had lock the hotel on lock down. as a curfew was in effect til 5pm. I managed to get out and walked over to City walk mid-hurricane. There was a lot of trees down an debris everywhere. The table tenis table at the Hard Rock was floating in the pool. The volleyball court is completely submerged in water and the gates to the pool are knocked down. The gusts were incredible. We had a buffet in the Kitchen last night. It was first come first served basis. We were seated within 20 mins. The curew wa ten extended to 6 am.
This morning we had a message from Mark Shouger making sure evreyone was ok and hoped everything was plain sailing from here on in.
All in all I thought the hotel did an excellent job in making sure everyone was as comfortable as possible during the storm.
