Anyone tell me about the food court at Saratoga Springs?

The menu on the boards is from 8-06 and I wonder if anyone has eaten their recently. Can you give me a brief description of what is available and prices? I am most familiar with Coronado Springs food court - the Pepper Market which has a wide variety of food made to order at reasonable prices (for Disney). Any info would be appreciated! Kathy

SSR is not really a food court like at CS. It has grab and go food and a small food counter. The food is good and has a good selection but it is nothing in size like CS.

Food courts exist only in the moderates and values. Deluxes and DVC resorts have quick-service locations that have a small menu of hot foods and some grab-and-go offerings. Compared to the food courts, the food selection is very, very small.

Personally, I found Artist Palette at SSR to be pretty lacking. The food was good, but I couldn't even get a cheeseburger there when I stayed a couple of years ago. There were chicken strips, and some sandwiches that were a little too fussy for my taste.

To be perfectly honest, Artist's Palette is the only thing I don't like at SSR.

Oh my! Thanks for the info. At least I know before we go so I can better plan.....hmmm not sure what that plan will be.

We'll be staying at SSR for the first time next April and I was just wondering the same thing! At least DTD is nearby, so we can head out there in the evenings if we aren't still in the parks. :hippie:

Breakfast there is pretty much the same fare that you see at most CS locations. They have Mickey Waffles, a Breakfast Platter, the egg, cheese and ham/bacon (can't remember) croissant. There is fresh fruit and pastries as well.

We generally did lunches (that weren't in the park) in our own kitchen.

Dinners, after not loving the menu, were in DTD. The boat landing is right behind Artists Palette and it's a beautiful ride in the evening.

I thought the breakfast choices were good (what the PP listed) and they had an excellent artichoke/asiago flatbread!

Didn't see anything interesting so did not try it. DH could not understand why they had no hamburgers.

Since we stayed in Congress Park, DTD was closer that AP. Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Pucks Express are better than Disney food courts.

We were there last October and I thought the breakfast was good. I mean, comparable to what you're going to get anywhere else really. But, I thought the selection was lacking for dinner (we were never really around during lunch hours).

Also, we were kind of far away from the main house and I really preferred to run over to DTD rather than the AP.

What they had was very good, and it was plenty of choice for us- but they don't carry a lot of QS standards- ie: cheeseburger...they are also VERY slow. If it's a light crowd you were OK, but if the pool was busy - faggetaboutit. It took forever! We got takeout breakfast the last day and it was very good, and much quicker than lunch or dinner!

We liked the food there. The flatbreads are good, as are the salads. I agree that it is a much better experience when it is not crowded, but I think you can say that about almost anything (especially at disney!). We enjoyed our meals and found the food to be good quality for the price. Also, the kids can color at the tables which is nice.

Yeah, if you're staying in the Congress Park section, which is closest to DTD, it's better to go there for meals. Much more to choose from. :)
