We're headed to WDW in May for DS's first trip! :Pinkbounc He'll be 2 1/2 then. We're trying to decide between taking our Chicco Caddy (umbrella type stroller) and the Jeep Liberty (it's the 3 wheeled Jeep). For its comfort factor and the fact that it fully reclines (pretty much flat) I'm leaning toward the Jeep but it is a pretty bulky stroller when folded and I'm wondering if it will be too much of a hassle getting it onto various types of transportation? Anybody have a problem getting it onto the buses? If we use a towncar service to get from the airport to our hotel (Dolphin), do you think it will fit in the trunk of the towncar? I have an SUV so fitting it in my car isn't a problem, although it doesn't fit in the trunk of DH's car. Experiences anyone?

we are going in 14 days with our Jeep stroller- I love my stroller- we have a 6 year old and 9 month old. When our 6 yr old was younger we used those stupid 4 wheeled strollers- and never rented. I don't think umbrella is the way to go. When he was 3 he spent ALOT of time in the stroller so go with the Jeep. You can email me later in the month and I can let you know how it went. Don't worry about being too bulky on the trams/buses- we got really good at unloading and loading quickly and getting everything out from underneath.

:-) good luck

Thanks Petmd! I may take you up on the offer to email you later to see how the Jeep worked for your trip! I do think I'm leaning toward the Jeep now instead of the umbrella.

I have a Jeep Liberty stroller that I keep at our weekend house in the country and I would NEVER take it to WDW. It's WAY too bulky!

I love it for the country. It's great on gravel and dirt roads but too big for the buses, way too big to zoom in and out and around through the theme park.

I'd take the umbrella stroller. I purposely purchased a Graco Mosaic for this trip and loved it. Umbrella fold, cup holder, large basket, and full recline. It fit under our seats on the bus.

You might want to consider purchasing another stroller. I bought the Mosaic to replace my Maclaren Quest that I used at the mall and kept in our car. I hated that stroller. Too tippy, no storage.

I will be taking my Jeep Liberty stroller to WDW with us in December. My dd will be turning 3 while we are there and she loves to ride in this stroller. Actually my 4.5 y/o loves it as well and there are times when they are both in it at the same time and it is still easy to maneuver. I am a bit concerned about getting it on/off buses but since we will work it out. The first time my ds went (6 months) I had his full size Graco stroller (travel system) and we were able to maneuver on/off buses just fine. We drive a Dodge Neon and it fits in the trunk easily after I pop off the foot rest and fold it up - I guess it depends on the size of the trunk of the town car and how much other luggage you have. My dh, I and my dd will be driving to WDW and my dd (22), her friend and my ds will be flying. She is going to take the stroller with her on the flight so we don't have the problem of fitting it and our luggage in the car.

You know, I never realized that I could just "pop off" the footrest. I'll have to take another look at that today! That is what is keeping it from fitting in DH's trunk (he drives a Mercury Sable). Yes, my concern too is with lugging it on and off the buses. Hmmm... still thinking on this one.

My dh discovered by accident that the foot rest could be popped loose. I previously had a van so it wasn’t an issue. Now we have two small cars. I asked him to try one more time to get it in – I just bought it in the summer and was upset that I couldn’t take it anywhere. He started to lift the stroller by the footrest to put it in the trunk when the footrest unsnapped. He came in said “no problem”. I thought he was lying – we had tried to get it in there several times before – unsuccessfully.

During the Christmas holiday we went to a local children’s museum. As we were leaving, we walked out with another family that got in the car right next to us. Everyone loaded into the other car except an older lady (the grandmother probably). My dh put our son in his booster, I put our dd in her carseat, got the diaper bag out and then folder the stroller, unhooked the footrest and very easily slipped it into the trunk and closed the trunk. All the time this lady is standing there watching me. After the trunk was closed she said “I just had to see you put that large stroller into such a little car”.
