Anyone take losartan for blood pressure?

Just curious on how well it works.

After a year on lisinopril, I developed a horrendous cough that keeps me up nights and has effected my teaching. My doctor said it's the bp meds and so she switched me to losartan.

Lisinopril was fine except for the terrible coughing.

I had the exact same problem on Lisinopril. I had a constant cough that drove me crazy while I was teaching. I switchied a few years ago and have had no problems since.

Did you switch to Losartan? The bottle says may cause dizziness which makes me a bit nervous.

I'm on Lisinpril right now- low dose(10 mg once a day)

The cough thing bothered me at first and then either it passed- or it was all in my head? I had read about that as a side effect. Now I am wondering what it does that makes us cough? Maybe I'll look into switching- only thing is my bp is great on this one.

With the dizziness thing- don't they all say that is a potential side effect? Good luck really being on the right meds makes it so much better.

I am thinking of switching because I am also exhausted all the time. I think my bp is too low now.

I'm currently taking losartan with no side effects at all. Haven't had any dizziness.

I am on Lisinopril now and luckily have not had the coughing side effect. Before that I was on Diovan which works the same as Lisinopril but does not have the coughing side effect. And it is a TON more expensive. My pharmacist suggested to ask my doctor if Lisinopril would be a good med for me and also warned me to watch for the cough if I switched.
