We are not big breakfast eaters and I'm wondering if there are enough snack options of things like muffins, etc. available around the park/resorts that we could do a light breakfast with our snack credits?

Has anyone done this or is it unrealistic? :joker:

We did this. We stayed at the ASMovies. We used snack credits for toast, fruit cups, apples, muffins, juice etc.... Anything under $4.00 can be used as a snack. We also used it for salads from the food court fridges for my dd.

Have fun!

Stayed at Pop and used snack credits for yogurt parfaits, bowls of fruit, and boxes of donuts. In the parks we used snacks credits at Main St Bakery in MK and Fountainview Cafe in Epcot. Both places had GREAT pastries and even got a huge smoothie at Fountainview.:)

We stayed at CSR. I would go to the Pepper Market (which people here either have a love/hate relationship with) and I could get these HUGE muffins for 1 snack credit. 1 muffin would last 1 person (with exception of DH) 2 days. No joke.

We had 2 TS breakfast days. 1 day we ate DH's leftover birthday cake for breakfast (it was vacation after all). The other 5 days we used snack credits -- still left the park the last day with plenty of snack credits to get stuff to take treats home.

We have done this our past 2 trips. We usually stay at BWV and did that the last 2 times we were there using the DDP. We used our snack credits each morning at the BWV bakery. I think one day we waited and used the snack credits at the MK bakery for breakfast. This worked out very well for us. Some of the pastry items are huge and my kids wouldn't finish. I wouldn't throw away the left over, I would keep and put in a ziploc (that I brought from home) and save for later when they would get hungry again (late morning).

We really didn't need to use them for snacks in the afternoon/evening because we had our CS for lunch and our TS for dinner. With the CS you would usually get a dessert (and lots of times the dessert is pre-packaged) and since we would be full from the lunch food, I would just pack it in my back pack or our soft cooler and have that later if I was a little hungry or bring it back to the room for whoever to eat.

The dining plan works very well for my family when we use it this way.

We also stayed at CSR and the pastries/muffins/cookies were HUGE. We would normally get 2 and split them between the 4 of us.

Since you got dessert at both CS and TS, we normally would have a few desserts left over and saved them for breakfast the next morning, also. Nothing like chocolate cake for breakfast every morning. ;)

Our best use of snack credits for breakfast was going to the gift shop in the am and grabbing a box of entemanns (8 lg donuts) for one snack credit and a large bottle of orange juice or milk for the kids to share for another snack credit. DH and I filled our mugs and we were set! Breakfast for 4 for 2 snack credits! I know its donuts, but hey, we're on vacation! The kids loved it!

I like that idea and donuts for b-fast.

The brakfast burrito at the BW Bakery counts as a snack and is huge, Feeds 2 easy. We headed there most mornings and got pastries or the burrito for breakfast:)

I think your key phrase is "around the parks."

While it is true what most posters have shared regarding ease of use and wide range of available products to use snack credits on at the resorts, I don't think the same ease and range is found "around the parks." Your best bet is to look at the guaranteed snack item thread and see where they are and if you consider them to be suitable for breakfast.

When we stayed at the BW in August we were charged a CS for the breakfast Burrito.

Yes, there are items around the parks. We got muffins, pastries, fruit and california mix with our snack credits that we used for breakfast. There is a great link somewhere on the boards that lists all the items you can get for snacks.

I did find it easier to pick something up from the hotel, then you didn't have to worry once you got to the parks, but we did do it both ways

You can eat breakfast for a snack credit at any of the bakeries. The muffins and pastries are huge! Dh, dd4 and I each got a pastry or muffin at Main Street Bakery one morning and it ended up being too much food. If you guys are light eaters for breakfast, you can get fruit cups at quite a few different snack carts (I remember one with honeydew at AK). Most days, we skipped breakfast except for dd and had an early lunch, snack in the afternoon and late dinner. We probably bought less than $15 of food that wasn't covered by DDP during the 8 days we were there.

We stayed at the BCV and used our snack credits for bagels, muffins, oatmeal (single serving containers) and cereal. You can also pick up boxes of donuts for a snack credit.

We picked up Doughnuts and a 1/2 gallon of OJ with our credits this worked out well. Haven't done breakfast in the parks so I'm not sure some in our group are late risers...lol

Great idea!!! I definitely need to remember this.

My DDs ate bagels, muffins and milk at Tusker House in AK with snack credits. Keep looking...there is a lot out there you should find no problem!

is there a list somewhere of what is offered at the hotels for snack credits? we are staying at beach club, and it is nice to know what my options are before knowing for sure if i want to order from green grocers. on a side note, the ice cream from beaches and cream...is that on the dining plan at all? i can definatly see us using a counter service...if we had to...for some great ice cream as a meal.
