Anyone still doing ChaCha?

On demand tab...you can answer questions at your own pace for 2 points a piece. Don't ask me to explain points they make no sense to me at all. Those working for points share a cut of about $50,000 a month. My share of last month's cut was $2.00. :rotfl:

I have to say it was very busy with generalist questions this weekend. Too bad each of the $.10 questions each took about 5 minutes to search for. In 5 hours I made $17.82.

I have been putting more time & effort into selling off things I no longer need & clipping coupons.

Oh, OK, thanks. Didn't realize it's a points thing. I don't do points...makes no sense to me either. LOL I just chacha'd about a 1/2 hour...I did 12 questions, cause one took me 12 minutes to answer!! Oh, well. So I made a little over $1...:cool1: :woohoo: :rotfl2: They were coming in one right after the other, though...reminded me of the old days!

every one of my questions is no less than 3 minutes, unless it's one of those rare, special occasions when i get a simple "what time is it?" query. i complete about 15 queries an hour. it's very disheartening, and obviously, if i didn't need the money, i'd quit. what i wouldn't give to be able to do 12 queries in a half an hour...

(i'm not a newbie either-i've been chacha'ing practically every day since june of 2008).

I know it was a total fluke!! My questions usually take me 2-5 minutes since Expediters came into play. Remember when all the questions were how big is the biggest ***** & tell me a joke? It would take less than a minute for each one! LOL

boy, do i miss those days, lol. have you noticed the generalist questions have been really coming in the past few days? i think a bunch of guides quit or something. i can't think of another explanation for it.

I'm bailing also after this pay decrease. That's just not worth the time anymore. I was sad to see that email.

I tried to do this over the last few weeks, seems like I was on the PC forever and ended up making about $35 it looks like... And on top of that, seems like I screwed up everything I did, felt like a fool, 41 year old college grad striking out on a $1 an hour job... :)

I've been getting a lot of those emails too. Gee let's think about this... You cut pay, people left and you wonder why?

Ok, can someone please fill me in on ChaCha and KGB. Is it something anyone can join or is it something you have to be invited to join? It sounds interesting to me since I spend lots of time online. I can answer a few questions and research. Can someone tell me how to give it a try?

ChaCha and KGB are question answering services. People text a question to ChaCha (242242) for free (although there are question limits) or KGB (542542) for $.99 per question. These questions are then sent to people who are logged on to their computer through ChaCha or KGB.

ChaCha questions first go to an Expeditor who cleans the question up to send to a Specialist or answers with Quick Answers. This can take anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two and now the pay is based upon points (ChaCha "deposits" a certain amount every month, like say, $50,000. Expeditors split this "pot" depending upon how many questions they Expedite at the end of the month. I believe they end up making the same or less than the now $.02 per question Expeditors make that were hired prior to December 2009). If the question is passed on to a Specialist the Specialist gets paid depending upon what category the question falls into (most fall into around the $.10 range). They then spend anywhere from a minute to several minutes using the internet to research the answer and send an answer back. You get paid either monthly (it goes straight to your bank account) if you have at least $100 a month earned or you can choose to be paid whenever you want for a "service fee" of $2 and it goes on to a kind of debit card that ChaCha sends you. They do not take taxes out, you are responsible for taking your own taxes out. With ChaCha you have to answer each question that comes along (although you can certainly log in and out), meaning you don't get to see the question before you answer it. If you don't have $100 in your account on the 15th (when they transfer) the amount rolls over from month to month until you do have $100.

With KGB you get paid $.10 per question and you get to pick the question before you answer it and works essentially the same as ChaCha just different systems.

With KGB you have to pass a test (which you can take as many times as you want) and fill out a form online to be considered. With ChaCha you apply and then have to do a number of "simulators" before you are allowed to make money. Both hire off and on. You can google them to go to their respective websites to apply.

I hope my info is as accurate as possible. It's been a few years so I tried to remember what I had to do as well as the current stuff that has changed. I don't do KGB anymore so I don't know as much about that. I started as a Specialist with ChaCha but was getting hardly any questions so I asked to switch to be an Expeditor where the questions seem to roll in (I haven't logged in since the pay change from $.03 to $.02 but on average I was making about $100-$120 per month for about 30 hours a month give or take).

I bailed when I realized I can make more on sunshine then I can on there for the time I was spending. It took forever to earn a buck. Not worth my time.

Thanks NeverlandClub. I think I would like to give it a try. I wont look to make lots of money but view it as something else to do online. Thanks for the info. :)

I agree. I do sunshine as well.

You're welcome :goodvibes It really is easy money especially if you do it while watching TV or while you're online. Although the questions can be a little :scared1: sometimes as the main age group of people sending in the questions are teenagers. They do a lot of contests too on ChaCha, but I've never won any of them.

I gave up last year! I actually ended up with carpal tunnel syndrome! Ugh! I was also way too busy with my 50+ hour a week job and helping my husband's job with their book keeping! Ugh! I miss doing it! I have kgb emailing me to participate next weekend for the Super Bowl! I passed the test but I don't know if I have the stregnth to sit in front of the computer these days when I got burnt out!

Does anyone know how I go about doing this? I'm trying to close my ChaCha account but I have $100 in there. Will they mail me a check or direct deposit this if I close my account? I've been with them for 3 years but I just don't do it anymore. I was going to open the "Pay-Me-Now" account and pay the $2 to get the money but after reading the fees on the account they charge an inactivity fee. Seems like a lot of work to open an account, pay the $2, and then close the account. Was wondering if there was a more simple way?

I emailed ChaCha about a week ago and have not received a response .

uh-oh....FIB charges an inactivity fee? i guess i'd better close my account, i stopped doing chacha in november, 2010, and i've only got about .70 in my account.

It takes time to process when you request that they close your account. HQ has had a lot going on with all the new upgrades. They will get to it and pay you by whatever method you chose to be paid.
