Anyone stayed in AKV value?

I didn't know there were any pool view value studios. However, a PP talks about having a value studio on Giraffe Trail (whichever that is) that was pool view. Please help (if possible). Now I'm really confused about AKV views in the studios.

The Value villas break down as follows:

Parking Lot View: 2 2BR lockoffs (so there are up to 2 studios in this group)
Pool View: 4 2BR lockoffs, 4 dedicated studios (4-8 studios in this group)
Savanna View: 4 2BR lockoffs, 4 dedicated studios (4-8 studios in this group)

If you look at the map I posted in Post #16 above, the Value villa locations are colored in in yellow.

We are doing 3 nights in a value 1 bedroom and 5 nights in a value 2 bedroom a the end of January. I will report back!

Thanks for the info LisaS. So, if I understand you correctly, If I reserve a value dedicated studio, I will have 0% chance of a parking lot view?

Based on the confirmation letters people have received, if you book a studio you get assigned to either a dedicated studio or lockoff at the time of booking. What I don't know is if you can request a dedicated studio and whether it is guaranteed or subject to change when you check in. I expect we'll be getting some answers to those questions now that the Values are open.

Well I freaked out about having to move after 1 night, so I cancelled our 1 bedroom Value and upgraded it to Concierge yesterday.

So I wont have a report next week.

OK - our ressie in June states we are reserved in a "Ded Studio Value Jambo" --- does that then pretty much guarantee we won't have a parking lot view?

I hope so as well because I could see booking a dedicated studio at AKV (Value or not) to get the extra storage space! I figure there must be a reason the confirmation states whether or not you have a dedicated studio. Why list it if there is no guarantee that they will honor it?

But I am reluctant to tell someone they absolutely will not get a parking lot view if their confirmation says "dedicated studio" without some real data to back that up. The Values have only been open for two weeks and we've had very few reports so far. I want some confirmation that if someone with a parking lot view studio is ranting to the front desk staff about getting a better view that they won't cave and give him my dedicated studio and then tell me when I check in that "a studio is a studio" and the word "dedicated" is only a request.

You are soooo right Lisa!!

I remember when MS told me that a tub was not guaranteed that it was a request
I wanted it noted on my reservation that we needed a tub, not a zero entry shower

So I wouldnt bank on it, because the front desk will quickly learn that "the squeaky wheel gets the "dedicated studio with the non parking lot view" and he who checks in last gets what's left.

I loved my room, it was perfect. Nothing value in the least about it. I was right outside the ice machine, a small lounge and an elevator down to the pool and eating locations. My reservation did list it as a dedicated value studio Jambo, at the time I did not know that was anything special.

We have a Value View "Dedicated" studio booked for one night(added on this one night), and a SV "Dedicated" studio booked for the remaining 6 nights, coming up in March. The Dedicated is noted on my ressie.
So, what is the extra storage space I should get if these room are in fact "Dedicated" when we get there--is it extra closet space??

Most of the dedicated studios have a small closet where the connecting door would be in a lockoff studio. You can see it in Pj's photo of the kitchenette -- there is a small closet to the left of the kitchenette with the ironing board, iron, luggage stand and some hangers. There is also a wardrobe (next to the dresser/TV) with space to hang clothes. In most of the lockoffs, there is no closet so the iron and ironing board are stored inside the wardrobe.

Will a twin blow up mattress fit under the bed? ( or anywhere else? ) my DD's don't like to share a bed. If we bring it I want to leave it inflated. Not sure there's anywhere to store it though

There is plenty of room under the bed. It is really high. We used under the bed for storing all the decorative pillows on the bed. I didn't know where else to put them. We were in one of the dedicated studios that did not have the extra closet. There was obviously some mechanical stuff behind the wall there so no room for a closet.

We were in room 5020. When were you there? After Tuesday morning our view was very much like yours. I like the Flamingos too. I never realized they sounded so much like ducks.

Those pictures are absolutely gorgeous pjpoohbear. Doesn't look even remotely value to me. I am so Glad we bought AKV. The point savings and gorgeousness of the resort make the purchase so worth it.

We have a "value" studio booked for our Anniversary trip in June.

Thanks so much for sharing your pictures. The value studio at AKV looks just perfect for a solo (a little smaller, but for just one person, that's OK). I love that the bed is closer to the sliding glass door. It makes it easier to lie in bed and still see the gorgeous view. My favorite resort has been BCV, but looking at these pictures makes me think that DAKV value view studios are going to rival that, and at less points too.
