Anyone stayed in a refurbished room at ASmusic?

Is the whole resort refurbed or just certain buildings? How was your experience there?

Just wanted to say I am so looking forward to our trip!

We got back today from ASMU - we were in Jazz, in a refurbished room, Handicapped accessible, roll in shower, king bed room. It was pretty, I liked the new wall headboard, the bedspreads and carpet were nice. BTW - I saw huge laundry cart moving tings full of bedspreads each night we were there so they must be changing them more often or something.

2 potential problems - the new privacy curtain was 4 inches too short and if you were sitting on the bed or walking towards th ebahroom you could see in. It was attached at the end father away from the bathroom and no amount of pulling would let it free to close the gap by the bathrom door. Not a problem for my family - yet. We have a 6 year old who is just figuring out the concept of privacy.

And NO ONE at the resort (***'t manager, check in person, manager of check in people, maintenence men) knows what channel 96 is. They all told me it doesn't exist, I explained that 2 weeks ago there was a cartoon loop running on the AS lobby TV's and that was the in house cartoon channel but they al said that they didn't have cartons playing. I was there 2 weeks ago and I know it was on in the lobbies of AS, Saratoga, POFQ, and the poly, contemp, and POP so I thought I was going crazy. So, all the lobbies have disney chanel playing now.

ASMU had movies by the pool at 9 pm, bingo at 7 pm, and dance competitions at 8 pm. It as cool! We really had a great time at the resort and didn't make it into any parks because we were in Orlando for meetings and it was too hot to walk around in the sun.

We were there July 10-19th in Calypso.
I thought the new rooms were great! Loved the peg board to hang hats etc...on and our privacy curtain was the right size. Maybe the one in Jazz was a defect? My parents had the handicap/king room and they loved it. Housekeeping was good, but it seems like there used to be a channel that showed Disney movies quite a bit and I couldn't find it. Must have changed

Besides the eveing pool fun, in the afternoon they played games with the kids. Hula-hoop contests, musical chair type game, hit a target with a beanie and someone gets wet with a water balloon and a "Guess the song" game. The kids could win prizes like Twister or a Super Soaker etc....Adults could play too, but it was mostly kids playing.

jazz was being worked on imn april ,,,we were in the last building and it needed work..it was the one with the big boot,,the ones in front are always done firts,,its the first ones you see,,but they should all be donw by now..all star sports building 7 was done i was there in june and inside and out was perfect,,

Just a small correction. The buildings with the big boots are the Country buildings and you are correct they were the last buildings at Music to be finished.

All of the rooms at All Star Music were finished with the reburishments this last June. (2007)

Dh and I stayed in a newly refuburbished in the Calypso building last September. (2006).

We really enjoyed he new decor and the privacy curtain by the vanity.
music is the only Vaule resort so far that has the privacy curtain. The mods also have the curtain.(I am hoping Sports will also get them .They just started refubishing all of the rooms at Sports and are slated to be finished Feb. 2008)
