Anyone stayed at Orlando Int'l Resort Club?

My sister in law very kindly offered us a week at her time share at Orlando International Resort Club. From the literature they sent it seems kind of far out (they say 15 miles to WDW), and they don't show the insides of the rooms. This timeshare corporation (RCI) also owns Orlange Lake, Silver Lake and Westgate, which I have read on these boards are pretty nice, but my sister in law called for her timeshare late, so the International Resort Club was all she could get. Supposedly it's a "Gold Crown" resort, but I want opinions from someone other than RCI!

Has anyone stayed here? Is there a reason they don't show the rooms, or are they OK? How long is the commute, in minutes rather than miles? I've searched this board, but I get no hits on this resort. Thanks for any help you can give.

Orlando Int' Resort Club trades via RCI but it's actually a Fairfield managed property. RCI, the exchange company, only shows 1 or 2 pictures for each of their 3,000 or so affiliated resorts. You can see more pictures by visiting Fairfield's web site (above) for this resort and clicking on the left hand link that says "Resort Tour." There are also some photos at the OIRC HOA. Explore this website... it offers a good FAQ and details to answer all your questions.

We have not been there but have read favorable reviews. While it is technically awarded Gold Crown status, the reviews that I've read suggest that it's much simpler than most GC resorts. It's certainly much, much smaller... only a few 3-story buildings, like a small but nice condo complex... basic heated pool area, tennis courts, bbq grills, small game room and shuffleboard. The villas are reportedly spacious, comfortable and clean with well-appointed kitchens. Staff are apparently friendly.

If you are looking for a comfortable, quiet place to unwind at the end of the day, you'll probably appreciate the place a lot. Doesn't have organized resort activities, like the bigger places. There is a lot to do nearby. Their website (OIRC above) says it's 20 minutes to Disney property, 7 minutes to Universal and walking distance to Wet-N-Wild. I'd guess that's pretty accurate, looking at the maps given. Hope that helps. :)

Thanks, Lisa! That is so helpful. I'll check out those websites. DISsers rule!
