anyone stayed at hotel royal plaza

Hello, looking for info on hotel royal plaza??Anyone been there lately??

We stayed therre twice last summer. Each time we used a Mousesavers rate and were generally pleased. The second time that we stayed we got a tower room. That was much nicer than the standard room that we were issued the first time, albeit costlier. We also had a very nice view. The bonus was that the rate each time included breakfast. I wanted to go there again, but the rate that was quoted did not include breakfast. I wound up bidding on Priceline and wound up with the Hilton. If you have any specific questions, let me know.

Hi, I used the mousesavers rate this year. Did you request the tower room when you arrived or asked in advance? Also, was the price a big difference in a tower room over a standard?

Was there a couple of years ago. Very friendly and efficient staff,
property seemed dated though. They seem to be under chronic rennovation. We had a poolside room with private gated patio right next to pool. That was pretty sharp.

I won this hotel while bidding on Priceline. I would like to ask if this hotel has transportation to the Disney theme parks and if it does is there a long wait. TIA

I just called & HRP is not part of the Extra Magic Hour hotels.

kcarp, I received this hotel with a $40 bid on Priceline. I am pleased with the results.

I'm not positive, but I think Mary at mousesavers.com mentioned she would be staying at the Royal Plaza hotel while at WDW on vacation sometime in the near future. Look for her trip report after she returns March 8th, it may include this hotel.

Emerald31, That's a good price, I got the mousesaver's rate of 79 a night. Thanks RobinLyn I will be looking for that trip report. I'm still trying to figure out the DD Hotels bus trasportation. I read in the 03' Unofficial Guide last night that the DD hotels broke their contract with Disney, and use another transportation. Also, I know the guide is from last year and if anyone has any updated info on transportation & privileges staying in the DD Hotels , you would be a great help.

Not sure if you have been to this web site yet , but once you are there click on the hotel and more info will come up on that specific hotel. There are some maps and also transportation times listed. Not sure how updated it is but you could always call the hotel and have them send/e-mail/fax you info.
