The last time we cruised it was a cat. 4 on deck 8 for four days. The next cruise will be for seven days in a cat. 10 because we will have 2 adults and 4 children.

Any advantage other than price for not getting two cat. 4's? :mickeybar

We have 4 children so have always had to have 2 staterooms. I would LOVE to be able to stay in a Cat. 4 but it is not going to happen because of price for us! :) But do you realize those 2 Cat. 10s are the SPH rooms? We stayed in the ones on the opposite side on our first cruise. We like being on Deck 5 and stayed there again last cruise but we had a Cat 8. Only difference with 5522 and 5524 is that they are a Cat. 10 because of the obstruction in front of the window. If I remember correctly one room has more of a view than the other. We just want to be able to see outside and have sunlight. We stayed in an inside Cat. 10 once and it was very hard without seeing the light of day for my kids. We slept very late!!! Anyhow, I just wanted to make sure that you knew there was a porthole in each room but that they were obstructed a bit with the lifeboats. Enjoy your cruise!!

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I know they are port hole rooms (got lucky). I don't think I could an inside room. I guess it was just wishful thinking for another Cat. 4.

Could I ask another question since you have 4 children? This time we are planning on going the day before the cruise. Have you ever done this, and where did you stay? We arrived the day of the cruise last time and I will not get everyone up at 3:00 am to travel again......we also had plane connection problems and did not arrive at the ship until 4:30 pm. Way too long of a day for all of us!!!

That's a good location, nice and close to the forward elevators. There's not a lot of foot traffic because it's a short hallway. Deck five is great; I think you will like the location. Remember, less motion lower in the ship too.

I had those 2 rooms for our family of 5. We loved the location, and would want to be in such a nice quiet area if we cruise on Disney again. The 22 room has a slightly less obstructed view than the 24(we put the kids in there) Each room sleeps 4, so you can have the bedding made up any way you wish. I took clear packing tape and pushed the latches in on the doors so they became push doors which was easier for the kids than turning the handles to come and go. You could take or get from the room steward wooden triangle blocks to keep the room doors completely open.

Are there any advantages over 2 category 4 rooms other than price? I'd say no way, except I personally think the location is better. The 4's would be a tiny bit bigger with 2 verandahs. SPH rooms can't compete with that. But, again, we loved those 2 rooms and did rebook the exact same rooms again, although we later decided to cancel and have not sailed DCL again.
