Anyone stay at Mainstay Suites?

We are booked there (couldn't resist low rate of around $50 per night for suite for 6, with full kitchen) for a mini-family reunion over Thanksgiving. Who has been there? Good points/bad?

Hi there,

We stayed at a Main Stay Suites in Jacksonville, FL in April of this year.

We paid about $55.00 for a room with a mini kitchen. It was clean, comfortable and roomy. My kids took advantage of the pool one night, but we just overnighted there.

Just some FYI though - Main Stay allows pets. Since my DD and I have pet allergies, I had to be sure we stayed away from anywhere pets were allowed. They were very happy to acccommodate us.

Actually, the fact that they allow pets was one of the reasons we chose them (my dad has a doberman that is more a member of the family than some of our relatives). Thanks for your views of your stay in Jax.

I just booked Mainstay also and am thrilled with our final choice (after days of deliberation). I did a search of this board and the Budget board (early this morning!) and printed off 2 sheets of reviews, all were highly positive. I wish I'd seen this thread or I would have linked for you. Try a search when website traffic is low and you should find some great reviews as well as a link to the hotel's website. The website is older, it still refers to the hotel as Lake Cecile Suites, but the information is the same (although I think the photos are pre-renovation). You get a good idea re: how big the rooms are. As my dh said, it beats paying $700 more (total) for a 350 sq. foot room at POR, when this room is 800 sq. feet and near affordable eating options.
