Anyone stay at Daytona Beach for a few days before going to Disney?

Thinking of going to Daytona Beach and then going to Disney for our reserved resort. Anyone spent a couple days at Daytona Beach first? What is it like and where did you stay?

Have relatives that live just outside daytona. Have you considered any other beaches besides daytona. Depending on the time you go, you may have a better experience elsewhere. Daytona, depending on the time, can be "difficult" or "trashy". I suggest some of the other beaches just south of there, quieter, less crowded and more relaxing.

We are going the last week in March. I have been looking and am having a hard time finding anything at any of the other beaches unfortunately.

It’s been several years ago but we have and had a wonderful, relaxing couple days before the Disney craziness. I don’t remember the names of the hotels we stayed at but I think the one on the north end was our favorite. It was a quieter area. Sorry I’m not much help, I hope you find something

Why are you picking there? Activities .... beach ??? Are you trying to stay ON the beach?

We had been there about 24 years ago and wanted to show our kids where we went and one of the old restaurants we used to go to. I got a direct ocean front 3 bedroom at the last minuet but the reviews about the area are mixed.

Canaveral national seashore is 25 miles away and wonderful

This past September we spent a couple days at the national seashore. It was so relaxing and was the perfect ending to our trip. We enjoyed it much more than Daytona Beach, however we love quiet, less busy beaches. I'm not sure if it's always the case but we were on the beach with just a few people. It almost felt private. Would you consider going after Disney? A beach is a great way to relax after a busy Disney week.

My DD/SIL went there 2 days ago and fell in love with it. They said worth the $20 per car. Peace & Quiet and SHELLS galore. We definitely will go next winter.

I was going to suggest Cocoa Beach where we just snowbirded for 3-1/2 months (came back Saturday). Honestly better than Daytona. No one can change their oil on the beach. (yuk) We love Cocoa Beach. Old Florida.

Plus Disney is 60 minutes away if expressway cooperates and we went very often.
