My sister and I are heading down May 22-23 and managed to get a PS at Emeril's. I ate once at his restaurant in New Orleans, but that was a REALLY long time ago...I remember that it was fantastic, but that's about the size of it!! Anyone been to Emeril's at Citywalk? Does it live up to the hype? Any recommendations? We were also considering Sunset Grille, as we are both light eaters, but I hate to give up Emeril's if it is really that fabulous...

Thanks!!

If you're light eaters, I'd recommend maybe just eating at the bar and having an appetizer or two ...

When I was there by myself I just ate at the bar, you can order from the full menu ...

We ate there twice on our last trip: lunch with the kids (a lighter, less expensive menu) and then with friends for dinner. I thought the food was really, really good and I liked the menu. DH, on the other hand, thought it was over-rated. One thing that stands out in my mind is that our waiter poured our wine into our water glass while there was water in it!!! Now mind you, this was an expensive bottle of wine and once it was poured into the water, we certainly couldn't drink it. While he did apologize profusely, he did not compensate us in any way. In hindsight, we should've pushed it, but were with friends and didn't want to make a fuss.

I've eaten there a number of times and have never regretted it. Expensive? Yes. Good? Yes. Fabulous? Well, maybe.

BTW, a truly fine restaurant should have made good on the wine in the water mistake. Ask to speak with the captain if the waiter doesn't give satisfaction.

Hi,
We have dinner reservations at Tchoup Chop for 5/21.

Any chance we could just walk in to Emerils at City Walk for lunch on a weekday prior to Memorial Day? I don't want to leave the parks if we're having a big, fun time to be on time for a lunch reservation. Guess I could try to get reservations and then cancel them if we change our minds. Should we take our chances at getting a table for lunch? I don't have my heart set on it just thought it was worth trying.

I haven't eaten there - but Mary Waring on Mousesaver.com just put her DH's share of their trip report and they panned it BIG TIME! I just don't think I could bear to part with that much money and it be such a disappointing experience!
