Anyone sold SW credit?

We may need to cancel our trip to Orlando in August. We have about 1200 in SW credit that we would receive. It would be good until March 30, 2011. Has anyone ever sold their credit before? How about to a stranger or just to family/friends?

I'm not sure what you're asking exactly. But I have "purchased" SW credit from my sister before.

She shared the confirmation # with me and the name of at least one person on the reservation. Then I purchased tickets using the confirmation # and the name. My reservation received a new confirmation #. If my ticket would have cost more than the credit, then I would have just paid the difference by using a debit or credit card or even Pay Pal.

I've never bought or sold to a stranger before. That would have to be a trust issue between both parties.

You have several options.
Credit runs from date of purchase, NOT the date of trip, which I assume you know.
Then you can extend that by SW taking $50. out of the amount, and they will extend it another 6 mos. OR you can transfer it, sell it or give it away. All you need to do is give Your confirmation Number, with your last and first name. Personally, I am leary dealing with a complete stranger, unless maybe they brought me cash and we did their booking together so you know you got paid (thats a lot of $$) and they got the sw funds. SInce that is rather unlikely, I'd try and extend it to use it for later. They will not allow that until it is expiring though.
SOrry you may have to cancel, I hope the whole thing works out for you! Using others credit is simple at SW, I have done that, it has been given to me and I just recently Gave credit to someone else (paying it forward) and she had no issue either. I gave her the three things I already mentioned. Again, good luck!
*Oh, wanted to add, that IF the new person uses the funds the EXPIRE date does not change, it stays to the Original Date, and ANY and all that are linked with it ALSO expire, so that is vital that whomever uses it, is aware of that.
