I have been reading the us threads and they get up to 40 % off their stay at disney. They are saying that it is for no particular reason, there is a flyer going round to people offering a discount. does anyone know anything about this offer and if we can get it:yay:

HIya:)

I posted a similar thread a week or so ago.

My findings are that this offer is received via a Pin Code which arrives either by way of a postcard or email.

No one from the UK, that I know of, appears to have ever received anything a like to this offer and therefore I fear that it is restricted to US citizens only :sad1:

I myself am holding off from booking our October 09 trip as surely there must be offer coming out shortly to cover this period on the UK site :confused3

I used a code that got me 40% discount off the price of my forth coming trip. It was the code for AP holders. You do need to book via the US website as you cannot apply codes if you book via the UK website.

There is also a general public code available also. I think that is about 30 - 35%. Using a UK AA card also gives you a discount of between 10 - 15%.

I've had a couple emails from WDW UK offering me a 40% discount, but so far it's only been for Saratoga Springs Resort, and only for very specific dates.
I did read in the Unofficial Guide that they sometimes have offers on that they don't advertise - you have to ask them directly, ie "Do you have reduced room rates for x resort for the dates x-x?" Again though, whether that's only for US WDW travel company I'm not sure.
We're not going till 2010, but when it comes to booking, I'll check the price from WDW UK online, then phone them to see if they could offer any special discounts/offers. No harm in asking!
From some of the US threads they are saying that bookings are down a fair bit, so they might bring more offers out to entice you.

PS, there was another thread I was reading and someone from the UK was saying they were changing their booking from the US WDW travel company, as the UK one worked out cheaper.

Tried to use the AAA discount yesterday on the phone with DW and the lady said in 2009 it is only usable on certain hotels at certain times of the year from now on ???

I checked the Codes and Rates board after reading this thread then called Disney to see if we had a code against our name. We did and I was able to book a week at the Contemporary in an MK view room with 40% off for our October trip :thumbsup2

Did you phone WDW travel US or UK?

Thanks

Thanks for all the info, I think I might try phoning disney and asking. I too am interested if i need to phone the uk or the us. lets all hope we can get a good deal:banana:

I phoned the US yesterday and there isn't any code against our name. I've been told before by a Disney Specialist TA UK citizens are not eligible:sad2:

I know that I've had two separate codes before, one in 2005 and one in 2006 but I only found out after they'd expired. Perhaps we got lucky because we're in Ireland rather than the UK :confused3

For once you have gained from living in Ireland Jakki, certainly beats being able to enter competitions:)
