i was wondering what there show is like...Would you compare it to a Broadway Show or a Disney theme park show? Is this like a concert where people will be standing up for the whole show dancing and jumping up and down?

Sorry I Posted this here.......I hope the WebMaster can move it to the Community Board

Sorry

I saw Blue Man Group in Boston and I can honestly it's like no other show I have ever seen. My DH and I took DS (15th birthday) three of his friends and DD 25 and all of us had a wonderful time. It can't be explained - but it was well worth the cost of the tickets and the drive from CT. BTW you sit during the show.

I just saw Blue Man Group in Las Vegas in October. I agree that it's like no show you've ever seen. It has three "Blue Men" and the show consisted of many little "acts." Each act was totally different from the last. There was a band on scaffolding above the stage and the music was great. The Blue Men don't talk at all. They do some awesome percussion and a bunch of performance art-type stuff. They have audience members come up a couple of times to participate. The audience stayed seated during the whole show. There was no dancing in the aisles or jumping up and down. There is some audience participation toward the end. I don't want to spoil the surprise but everthing can be done from the comfort of your seat. I would highly recommend this show to anyone! :thumbsup2

I have seen the Blueman Group - both in NY and in Vegas and the show is awesome!! However, it isn't really broadway (in the traditional sense) and it isn't Disney...the blue men are a cross between comedians and musicians. I think you have to be into that sort of thing...some of what they do is a bit weird for some people...it's not a cutesy, sing-song type show. I loved it but my 13 DD hated it and refused to go the 2nd time.

Hope you enjoy...
Jes

My husband and I saw it in Las Vegas last year. I can't say I enjoyed it or did not. I couldn't get past them being blue. Maybe it's just me. Everybody else loved them. Including my hasband.

Saw them in Vegas last spring. Great show. Very different and it was tons of fun. I am a part time musician and the music was impressive. The band was great. As someone mentioned they are on the scafolding on each side of the stage. One side was a normal 4 piece band (guitar, bass, drums and keys) and the other side was a group of FOUR percusionists = serioius rhythm.

One of my favorite parts of the show I saw was when they did a bit on the history of music and someone in the audience yells out "FREEBIRD" which happens at EVERY gig I play, the group turn around, looked up at the band and they kicked the main lead to the song. It was really cool and I have since wondered if that part was ad-libbed or if they cue someone to yell that out every show. Can someone confirm this for me???

But anyway, I loved the show. Very fun. And very funny.

I love the Blue Man Group!! :woohoo:

I saw them in Vegas this past March and loved it!

It's a "different" show, but it's fantastic!

It's very entertaining and really like a variety show. Their musical talent is amazing to me! The show is full of music and comedy! :thumbsup2

I even have there CD and I love it!

That happened at our show too! I thought it was ab-libbed, but obviously not now! :rotfl2: It was hilarious though and one of my fav parts of the show! "How to be a Rock Star" is by far my favorite! I'm about to pop my CD in right now! :lmao:

Blue Man Group rocks! Oh my gosh... just indescribable. I saw them in Boston only to take an out of town visitor. Really did not know what to expect. All I can say is WoW!! Such a great show. Would highly recommend anyone who has the ability to see them Go! You won't regret this experience.

I have they were wonderful, my girlfriend and her husband took myself and my DH. We saw them in Manchester, NH.

Are they going to be at WDW this year?

They've been booked at Universal, so I doubt they will get to Disney :(

They're wonderful though... To answer the question of the OP, it's part improv theater, part concert, part comedy show, and maybe a little magic thrown in. It won't be like anything you've seen before, you'll be standing sometimes but not the majority of the time.

They will be permanently placed in the old Nickelodeon building at Universal starting in June 2007. The building is being redesigned to accomodate their one of a kind show. You will be able to access the venue through Universal and through City Walk. Tickets are already on sale and there will be two performances each day or each day they perform.

The blue man group is a very unique show and It is in my oppinion one of the most well thought out and original concepts. IF you are into art and into the performace aspect of it and you have a open mind, you will really enjoy it. They are a music performing comedic group, but the beauty of it is they have such strong artistic undertones that it brings a lot of depth to what they do.

The reason they are blue is so each can be nondiscript and to represent that they could be anyone of us.

I've seen them in NY and Vegas. They are great! The NY theatre (very off Broadway) is much smaller and more clausterphobic than the huge Luxor (where we saw them in Vegas). The show was basically the same in both places.

I also saw them in NY and just loved them. I like to think I have a dry sense of humor and found their performance to be one of the funnest I've ever seen. Many times it was just the look on their faces that would have you almost in tears!!

In so many of their skits, their faces expressed the thoughts I have in my head when I see people do things ... you know "I'm glad people can't read my thoughts - they'd be shocked!"

It's a very imaginative and original show and, as I recall, very family friendly if you have kids.

I'd definitely recommed it to anyone who has the opportunity to see it.

I've seen the show twice and that was done both times. Everything is an act for sure. Even down to the people they pull from the audience. They know ahead of time that they are going to be pulled. The only thing I am not sure of is if they are actual audience members or actors....but I think I have heard that you can request those parts so maybe it is real....

I saw them quite a few years ago in Vegas, a year later during the Blue Man Tour, a couple years ago in Chicago, and will be seeing them in 2008 at USO. Definately, definately worth it.
