LOL, uh-oh...I think I opened a can of worms...(duck and cover)

Lol, it was the same thing as here...people who felt there was no excuse and people who felt it wasn't a mortal sin. You know it works...we could debate paper vs plastic here for 80 pages. ;)
That's true. :teeth:

just as she is not white trash as someone posted earlier, not all paparazzi are pigs, some are decent people just out taking photos of stars..
OK, I see your point. I still believe that celebrities should have the right to run to Starbucks without getting hounded though. But then I'm not one that the celebrity rags are catering to.

I think the obssessive infatuation many folks have with celebrities was the catalyst for this situation and then we hound her for trying to get away from them???? Chances are many a Mother , even those that LOVE their child, would have high tailed it out of there without thinking just as she did!! The urge to run is pretty overwhelming when we feel cornered..

Too many people need a life out there!
Actually, when I think about it and imagine myself 'terrified' as she has stated, I think the first thing on my mind would have been to tell the person in the passenger seat to take the baby so that I could operate the vehicle to safety. I guess that is the part I do not understand about her story. To just drive away and have one hand on him and one on the wheel...terrified? I dunno, that just doesn't make any sense to me.

that's true, but it's not just paparazzi that make life difficult for celebrities, they are in much more danger from psycho fans, unfortunately I don't think they can ever have anormal life once they choose a life in the spotlight..

most mothers don't have a bodyguard there to protect them, that's the issue I have with this whole thing, what's the point of paying him if he doesn't make her feel safe and protected, most good bodyguards also are trained at driving, to escape dangerous situations, she should have jumped in the back seat with the baby and let the bodyguard drive, then she could have put the baby in the carseat

Ugh! Are You kidding me!!! Do you KNOW what plastic does for the ecosystem???!!! :sad2:

hehe just kidding!

And seriously, does anyone really buy that she was terriffed? I don't. I think she is just offering an excuse for being caught doing something stupid. I actually don't even blame her for that, she was sort of caught with her pants down on this one. I hope she is more safety conscious in the future, for her sons sake. I would hate to see a tragedy come from making a bad call.

Now that I have seen even more pictures, I don't buy it either.

I would agree that she likely wasn't terrified since she's probably used to the press. Maybe she was annoyed? Uncomfortable?

It really doesn't matter though, she should have put the baby in the carseat one way or the other. If she was mobbed and couldn't get to her backdoor, that bodyguard is lousy.

Truthfully--I had images of her with the baby on her lap--panicking...bodyguard diving into the car and her flooring it.

Admittedly--not what the pictures look like. though I do wonder about the 3rd pic with windows up and taken from the front angle.

I hope the agency was truthful that they were at a safe distance--b/c that hardly looks like photographing her exiting the lot from a ways away--more like they followed and kept up with her. Wonder if they were wearing a seatbelt as well.

Maybe she is dating the bodyguard? Honey--I need a Mocha Mucha lacho ya ya. Go fetch me one.
(sorry had to lighten up the thread).

LOL, that would be even a bigger story...

I guess I would think differently if there was even an effort to hand over the baby, or to get him in the back. Doesn't look like there was any effort made. Doesn't even look like she was talking to her bodyguard at all.

I say we hijack the thread and finish debating the plastic vs. paper issue! :teeth: Anything to take our minds off Miss Spears. Then after that we can try to answer the age old question of tastes great or less filling? :confused3 ;)

Almost every mother has done something dumb at one point or another - while what Britney did was really stupid - I think the media is making it a bigger issue than it needs to be. This has been given almost as much coverage as this huge wildfire burning in Anaheim! We can all agree that what Brit did was stupid and unsafe, but c'mon already!

LOL, I totally agree this is not a huge story...I am just waiting for the pizza guy to show up with dinner, so thia is filling my time. It's fluff.

Really? A fire in Anaheim? I better tune into my KCAL station that I have here. It's how I get my fix.

Side note: I went to an Olive Garden today that just opened up here and while we were inside eating I felt like I was back in Burbank because that's where DH and I used to go to eat alot. Then we stepped outside and were hit with a blast of cold air and snow! How rude! :rotfl2:

Pizza huh? What's on it? :)

afraid my foot. Give me a few of her millions and you can take all the pictures of me going to starbucks you want -maybe I could afford their coffee then!

She would be really terrified if there weren't ANY photographers there taking her picture now to her thats a really frightening idea!

Yep - it's in Anaheim Hills. Preliminary guesses are that it's burned about 3500 acres and a couple of thousand homes have been evacuated. I'm currently working in the Emergency Operations Center (I'm on call as a calltaker/miscellaneous clerical for large incidents such as this), and the word here is after they do some arials they believe it will be closer to 6000-7000 acres. My dh is working on a strike team right now, and I'm hoping he'll be home in a few days. In California we expect this around May or June, not in February!

One is x-cheese, the other all pepperoni and 1/2 mush/sausage. Still waiting because they messed up and just called me back to tell me they didn't have the order right...um, hello, I called like 1/2 hour ago and they only now are calling me?

I was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt before I saw the pics. Even if it was just paparazzi and even if she had a bodyguard with her. After seeing the pictures, I agree with you. She doesn't look like she was terrified and she doesn't look like she pulled over immediately to buckle him in.
