Anyone see Buffy last night?

Did anyone see Buffy the Vampire Slayer last night ? I set my VCR to record it while we were gone and it didn't tape ! Can anyone give me the highlights ? Thanks !

Let me see if I remember. Buffy found an ancient weapon last week, into this week. It was set into a stone...Caleb threatened her saying he would kill her before she could get it free. Buffy pulled it right out easily. Instead of staying to fight, she needed to go and rescue Faith and the other who were caught by the bomb last week. Caleb wanted to fight, the first said to hold off. Buffy rescued the girls and Faith, but Faith was unconcious. Oh, the girls are being attacked by a bunch of ubervamps, but Buffy's weapon kills them dead easily...like it was made to do just that.

Buffy is now back at the house. Giles and Willow try to find out info on the weapon...a scythe of ancient origins. Buffy feels energy when she holds it, but no one else does, except for Faith when she comes to.

Buffy tells Xander to do something...we don't know what...but he doesn't want to, he wants to stay and fight. Buffy says this is helping more. Later you see Xander talking to Dawn by his car, they are going thru it looking for something that isn't there. Xander chloroforms her and heads off...presumably to keep Dawn safe. Dawn comes to eventually, and Xander gives her a note from Buffy. She starts reading it, realizes what's going on, and zaps Xander with a stungun. Takes over driving and heads back home.

Buffy and Spike talk...he tells her he's scared, how much last night...just holding her all night...meant to him. She says it meant something to her, too.

The first and Caleb talk, and the first re-energiezes Caleb by some mystical means...kind of gives him part of her essence. At least that's what it looked like.

Buffy takes off alone to find the origins of the scythe. Willow and Giles found info of pre-christian orgins, something about an ancient area in the graveyard. I think a pyramid. Buffy finds an old lady there who helped forge the item many ages ago. She has been waiting for Buffy. Before she can tell her everything, Caleb comes from behind and snaps the old lady's neck.

Buffy and Caleb fight...Angel shows up to help at the nick of time. Buffy says its her fight. Angel enjoys the show. Buffy kills Caleb by slashing him with the scythe. At least I think he's dead. Angel and Buffy kiss....flash to Spike who is watching. They don't know he is. He is hurt beyond measure.

Okay, that's what I remember anyway.

hey, Is Giles evil now or something? Why did he send Faith & the girls to get blown up? I think he knew.

them the kiss the first was whispering "What a *itch" in Spike's ear. They better not make SPike evil again...I couldn't take it.

Well, if Giles isn't evil, he's stupid. And that would be another let down from Joss. What about Giles arranging to kill Spike & getting Buffy kicked out of her own house.
Spike is still being tormented by the first I think.
That was cheap of Buffy to tell Spike how much she cares for him one minute & then the next jump on Angel. Besides, Angel is gross. Always has been. He is just a big baby. I like him better as evil.

my thoughts are that Spike will be influenced by the first for a bit, but in the end he'll do what is right.

My thoughts were similar to yours, mtemm, except I was thinking that Spike will go all noble (new soul and all) and sacrifice himself in order to save Buffy and/or the gang because he loves her despite the fact that she will always love Angel best.
