Hi jrabbit!

If I missed you checking in previously with our merry band I apologize but in any event WELCOME!

What makes up your band of pirates? We have a bunch of teens in this group any in yours?

Are you coming in on Friday? Combining with WDW at all?

We have a meet planned for deck 10, starboard, basically over the Goofy pool area during the sail a way party. Kari has suggested the lime green mickey stickers from the Disney paint chips at Home Depot as our idenitifier! :p

Hi Deb --

You're right! We'll be at the Hyatt Friday evening. We'll be there early evening, by 6 pm. It's going to be a long day flying 'cross country.....

I'm glad Andrew is signed up for both teen functions. Would love for our 2 boys to meet one another!

Take care my new friends!

Amy

Still not sure of our arrival time Amy. Although DH said after dinner - gee if we're getting in early enough maybe we shouldn't stay at the Hyatt but drive over to the Space Coast and....

at which point I reminded him of 1) the numerous long conversations we had on this topic many months ago before we booked, 2) we just passed the 60 day point so we'd be penalized for making changes  (like HOW did that escape him with all the conversations about making excursion reservations, etc), and 3) how making the change (if it were possible) would mess up the rest of the details such as transfers to the port - now we'd have to rent a car, etc etc.

We did take a look at the potential flights we might be on (booked through DCL for lots of reasons that make sense to us) and we won't get that schedule for another 30 days. I doubt they'd put us on the early morning (translation 5:45 to 6:30 am departures) flights because they usually keep those for people flying into WDW and with plans for that day. So I'm guessing we'll be on one of the late morning or early afternoon flights which would get us in about the same time.

Lemme 'splain. I, wrh3md, am the dh of Debbie H. the father of dd and sil, dd 17 and ds 19. I cruise the boards under my own user name at times so I can log on between cases at the hospital. We, as some of you may already know, are cruisin' on the 6-21 western and then kicking off the kids to go to OKW while dw and I stay on for a back to back.
With the cruise getting closer our excitment is rising. We put in for the excursions at Rum Beach and the Fury Catamaran which we did last year and had a blast.
So there, it's spilled :earseek: We look forward to staying in touch as the time draws closer.

Cheers, Wes

Thanks for "splainin" Lucy! uh...Wes! :p

Ok, that takes the list down a tiny bit, but still a good size group!

Just leaves a couple mystery cruisers in our group!

Deb

Ok fellow cruisers. In the interest of providing you with a full and fair description of my DH I think I need to "correct" an impression that may have developed from my last couple of post.

1. Regarding the "missing 60 day mark" - he didn't actually miss it, just didn't realize that meant no changes to the reservations. I can see that as that has been my primary responsibility.

2. Thinking of an anniversary basket on his own...he DOES surprise me from time to time with "traditional" romantic greatures but is constantly doing things that really count - like dishes, cleaning, running errands, etc. And HE is the one that surprised me two anniversaries ago with a gorgeous pair of earrings while I didn't even remember to get him a card! :( I just didn't think doing something like a basket ordered ahead of time would be his style - he tends to be a bit more spontaneous. Who knows I may be surprised!

He has managed to keep me interested for more than 20 years (celebrating our 20 wedding anniversary on the cruise)! Plus he has been known to lurk around under my log in so I wouldn't want to hurt his feelings for ANYTHING!

Deb

Wow! It has been a busy weekend on this board - our thread was back on page 6! So just bumping it up!

Hope everyone is having a great week and getting all prepared for the cruise.

Deb

Hello from West Palm Beach, Florida. Dad and daughter team(she is 7) on our first Western cruise.

Any advice welcome or just say hello.

Our stateroom is 1030. How do I find out where this is on the ship? Any shore excursion ideas??

Rick

Hi Rick -

You can probably found out the room location on Barb's website. I believe it is www.castawayclub.com. If that is not right, it is on this board somewhere.

I am part of the group travelling with 8 adults and 5 kids -- all girls. My daughter will be turning 7 in August. I am sure our daughters will hook up in the clubs. Can't wait!!

:bounce:

Hey everyone!!!!! 17 year old DD here, of two wonderful parents! We are planning to go on the 6/21 cruise!!! I was looking for some other teenagers out there, but it looks like a majority of them are younger!!

My mom is beyond excited and reminded me yesterday that we made our FINAL payment and its official :) This is our 3rd 7-day and we LOVE them! :)

I hope to see you all on board and chat with you until then!

Patience is a virtue and these cruises are WELL worth the wait :)

To "our cruise" newbies - Rick & Karen and families - welcome to the 6/21 thread!

To catch you up we do have meet planned for deck 10, starboard (terminal side) approximately over the Goofy pool area during the sailaway party on Sat. Also several families will be at the Hyatt or Radisson on Fri night prior.

Karen - there are a few teens closer to your age, Ryan is 17. My son will be just shy of 16 and our ever bubbly Kari will be 15. The 15-17 teens are grouped together for CG activities as I'm sure you know. Ryan, Andrew and Kari have been emailing each other directly on and off for a month or so. But you are correct in this group at least there are quite a few 13 yo. Although mainly boys to my DD's chagrin.

Rick - if you can find time to browse through the prior pages on the thread you'll see there are a variety of opinions and choices for this group in terms of excursions. A lot depending on personal preferences and ages of kids traveling. We're booked for Back to Nature Kayaking in KW, DD & I will to horseback and DH & DS snorkeling at Chankanaab in Cozumel, and all Stingray City (without any of the side excursions) in Grand Cayman. Just checked the deck plan in my Passporter and stateroom 1030 is on deck 1, port side as far forward as the staterooms go. It's forward wall is shared with the forward tender lobby and it is just a stone's throw from the Medical center.

Deb

Woohoo! We're down to only 50 days! After the day I've put in so far (and it isn't over yet still have a 6-10 night class to teach), I am SO ready for a vacation. We're moving offices...no one ever told me driving a dolly was part of the job description!

Deb

Hey fellow June 21 cruisers! Can I join y'all? Some of you have been here a long time!!!!

I just purchased my cruise 2 days ago, but am so excited I can hardly stand it. I can't imagine what you all have been going through for months already:o

DD--9
DD--18mo

DH & Me, and we're from Phoenix AZ. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

We're staying at the Radisson the night before, so if there's a meeting place & time, I would love to meet some people before the cruise even starts. My 9 year old is very sociable and makes friends easily, so I'm excited for her to make some friends on the cruise.

We don't get in until 7:30, and by the time we get over to the Radisson at Port Canaveral, it will prob be around 9:30ish. That might be too late, but if people are meeting up, we would like to stop by and say "hi".

Welcome to our group. Yep, some of us are those long term planner types. I saw your thread on the price you managed to book for....nice job!

There are several DISers staying at the Radisson on Fri night, I remeber Kari and family (CBAGGS) saying they were but can't remember off the top of my head who else.

The meet we have planned is for Sat when we are all on the ship. During the sailaway party, deck 10 starboard (terminal side) approximately over the Goofy pool area.

Although...as big as this group is getting I hope we don't tip the ship! ;)

Deb

Noticed you are from MI! I was raised there and moved to AZ at the ripe old age of 21:lol Where in MI do you live? I lived in Westland, near dearborn, livonia, etc.

Wow! This ship seems to be filling up by the minute.
To our newbies Rick/Karen/Beanteam, glad your joining our crew. Deb & Kari have kept this thread going for quite some time which has made it fun getting acquainted before ever meeting someone. On our last cruise in 2000, DH overheard a family in the registration for the lab and introduced himself right then, b/c he had corresponded with them on these boards. It was great to be able to pick them out of all others onboard.

Karen, one of my DS, Ryan 17, will be onboard and plans on hanging out at CG, last cruise he mainly hung out in stateroom eating all day and only met someone the last night, which they played marathon ping-pong. This time his DGF also 17(and her parents) will be on the ship and they both plan on trying out CG. Hope this helps.

:bounce: Yippee, we are under 50 days and are really looking forward towards the Magic!

Deb, are you planning on purchasing the SAFESEA lotion? I have lived in Florida my entire life and never knew that the irritating rash was actually something other than irritation from the saltwater. Oh well, learn something new everyday.

Gotta go catch some rays

:smooth: Kim

Hi Kim,

I had the Sea Safe on my list of "to dos" and finally ordered it about a week ago. Quick delivery - received it last Friday.

Time is really flying now - we were reviewing the calendar last night and with end of the school year activities, holiday weekend, etc. our cruise date is going to be here before we know it!
