Anyone rent pagers from disney?

We are going to be in 2 parties and I can't ride coasters due to pregnancy and I don't want to "tied to a bench" w/ my 2yr old. I'd like to be able to wander a small area/shop/eat etc while waiting on everyone else. We do have cell phones but I just remember having trouble calling our friends there (who has a different servce) and could never get through.

People have said the 2 way radios work but you have to deal with everyone else there using them and someone mentioned Disney has pagers you can rent. Are they text pagers or do I need a phone to page someone (that's all I'm familiar with at work).

Any details appreciated.

I am not aware of any pagers you can rent at WDW.

I don't know about renting pagers from Disney but we always use the 2 way radio's. They are small and very convenient. You do get some interference with other conversations but it's still worth it.

I tried to do some research on this the other day for someone else. All I came up with is that there is someplace in DTD to rent them for the day but I imagine they must be picked up there and returned there. And they may not work in the other parks. The info I had was sketchy at best. Chances are not good on finding them at any of the other parks.

You could use your cellphones. Many people here have reported using them with no problems.

If you dont have cellphones you can buy 2 way radios. If you do this, get the longest range you can afford and be aware that there are thousands of other people at WDW and alot of them have 2 ways. And 2 ways have a limited number of channels. You will pick up other conversations.
