I took this photo about 10 years back. Where I am standing in the photo is now the Hard Rock Hotel car park!

I remember it well. It was cool how it was guitar shaped and all.

I'm blind .. I can't find Waldo?

I think he meant where he was standing when he _took_ the photo, not that he was _in_ the photo. But, I'm pretty blind myself, so I could be completely wrong :confused3 :rotfl:

Makes sense, I was sitting here looking for a person for about 25 minutes. :rotfl:

I'm either really blind or the person is extremely small in the photo, just looks like one of those orange sticks to me, lol

Sorry for the confusion. I am not in the photo! What I meant too say was, I took the photo from the (now) car park of the Hard Rock Hotel.........Hope that clears things up.

PS What a waste of a great building.

Last time I was at the "new" hardrock I met a waiter who seemed to be the unofficial Archivist. He was telling us everything about everything. He wanted to show us beatles stuff in the upstairs, but my cousin was rude and inappropriate (grr I hate that) so I just decided to leave. Anyway, He said that the old hardrock still stands and is used as storage.

Not only do I remember it, I've been there, done that and bought the T-shirt! Seems you could exit the park to go over there from an area where there was a Bates Motel replica.

You can see it from the drive and the car park of the Hard Rock Hotel. Although it's mostly covered by trees and stuff now.

BTW You can do an official tour (for free) of the new Hard Rock Cafe. They take you to the Lennon room upstairs and explain the background to all the memorabilia. They also take you next door to the Hard Rock Live, into the changing rooms, the attic and the press rooms. You can even purchase a pin to say you have done the tour.

How long does it take to finish the tour. It sounds cool?

In my photos, I have total strangers wandering around in front of my shots.

The tour lasts about an hour and usually starts around midday. The guide has a vast knowlege of all the memorabilia in the Cafe. The highlights are the Lennon room and the Attic.

Good to know! I was bummed I didn't get to look around. Next time no evil relatives can come!

Where the heck have you been Haggy?

Last time we were at HRC they said they don't do the tours anymore but told us to feel free to walk around. That's a good tip since HRC service is very slow so you have plenty of time.
I wish they still had the backdoor gate into US at the old HRC. If you were staying at HRH you could go to MIB in less than 10 minutes. :cool1:

Remember how you had to exit the park to go there....There used to be a small store, so small that you had to stand in line to get in there. I think you ordered merchandise by numbers, say you wanted a Number 10. which was a white T-shirt and you told the clerk what number it was when you got in there. The merchandise was all behind the counter, kinda like ordering fast food....I hope I remembered that all correctly, it has been a long time since any of us were there.... :sunny:

I remember that too. I wonder what's there now?

I miss the old hard rock!!

And on one of our visits - there was a live taping of Pyscho ( I think Pyscho III). We were headed over to eat at the Hard Rock and the taping was going on. Had to stand there and watch for awhile. They were yelling at people to be quiet. I remember those days well!!!
