Anyone remember the Toobee flying can?

Just thinking about all the strange stuff over the years. I saw it in the late 70s, where I saw them for sale at a science museum. Back then, most seemed to be made of actual, used soft drink and beer cans, although their advertising shows some sort of custom label.


I tried making my own a few times, although the tough part was making it safe from burrs. Sanding the thin edge was pretty easy.
 
Never heard of it but seeing as Dan Murphy was the one who reported on it, he might be able to give you some tips. ;)
 
I do recall them, though never had one or saw one. Apparently they are still available.

We had frisbee/flying saucer type toys, which my children had too, and they also had an Aerobie.
 
I remember lots of things from that time, like pogo sticks & kabangers or using as many hula hoops a possible, but not this. It sort of looks dangerous, as if it could cut you so a blood sport hackey sack.
