Anyone remember the Margaritaville timeshare chair thread?

Well thank you, but none of it was freehand, anyone can do it, really. I googled clipart, blew it up on a copier and traced it and then tried to copy the colors and highlights, etc. from other colored googled pics.

I printed the words (Zack Brown and Billy Currington lyrics) from my computer and did the same thing using old fashioned carbon paper stuff from Michaels, and they make these amazing paint pens for outlining and writing.

The worst part was painting the chairs themselves, 2 coats, and the slats and the runs, and then the sticky polyeurathane, ugh!

They're just $30 chairs from Home Depot. I was too afraid I'd mess up really good ones.

My 5 year old neice helped me put them together with a cordless screw gun afterwards. That was my favorite part.

Seriously, I don't think even with clipart I could do that...I have zero talent in the artistic department.

You should consider selling at local craft shows

If you all check the original thread, you can see where I completely copied the Margaritaville chairs, so you all CAN DEFINITELY do this too. I wish I could have pulled off the more fun cartoonish look of them, guess I'm a color in the lines person

They're sitting next to the seawall on our lake lot which is just a weekender with a singlewide, but we LOVE it, lots of friends and family, fishing, boat drinks and music.

(I painted the kids bunk room like a pirate cove from directions I got from a Home Depot brochure if anyone is interested in seeing pics.)

I'm going to try a sailboat chair with a sunset that says Paradise next, with a map of the lake on one arm rest that says, "drive until the map turns blue" from the Brad Paisley song Water, and a dock or a pontoon on the other arm rest with the Zac Brown lyric, "gotta get where the boat leaves from".

yikes, nothing to copy this from, so I'd love it if someone wants to try it first

Wow, your chairs are incredible! I live in FL. DH and I are huge Parrotheads. We hit any Margaritaville that we come close to, especially when cruising the Caribbean. We are doing our Florida screen room in all things Buffett. I may just have to try to do a cheap chair, but I am not sure mine would even come close to what you have accomplished. Love the ZBB idea for a chair! Well done!
