Just curious if everyone still thinks using points for a visit to DLP is a bad idea. We would be there for 2 nights, mid-week during the lowest point season and it looks like Sequoia Lodge would be 25 pts per night + the $95 fee. That doesn't seem too bad to me, but I wonder if I'm missing something. Also, I thought I heard you didn't have to buy tickets through MS anymore...is that correct? Thanks for any help!

We stayed two nights midweek last September at the Disneyland Hotel in DLP and it was fabulous. We were on an eight night trip around Europe prior to boarding the Magic for the DCL to the Mediterranean. We were at the end of our whirlwind jaunt had stayed in different hotels every night and while they were nice, the rooms were small and "European." It was nice to have larger rooms and amenities that Disney provides. Well worth the points, especially since so many hotels in Paris are so expensive. We could take the metro right from the hotel into the heart of Paris without a problem. Lovely stay!

Thanks, Wendy on Pixie Dust! Does anyone know whether a ticket purchase is still required?

I haven't stayed there on points but have stayed at the DLP hotel as a regular cash paying guest and just want to say the resort is gorgeous and is worth a stay. Whether you use points or cash I'm not sure, but it is disney magic at its best. I'm not sure if the sequoia lodge has the same feel though because I didn't visit it. But it is easy to get to Paris and takes 30ish minutes on the metro if I remember correctly.

I recently looked into and it seemed like oop was much less expensive. I booked thru the disney French site and total oop two adults golden forest lake view room, park tickets and breakfast was 404 euro. Three nights lodging and four day park hoppers. This was th-Sunday in January.

Well, I just bit the bullet and booked two nights using points. Probably not the best use of them but it was the last portion of our trip that we didn't have reservations for and I was anxious to move on to other things on the itinerary. Our problem with the packages offered through DLP was the inclusion of three days of park tickets -- which we did not need. I can confirm that booking through MS does not require a ticket purchase.
