Anyone recall on the old Disney website, if you could book "Room Only" at SwanDolphin

Having an internal debate about, and hoping that some of you might remember from shopping on the old Disney website.

In current version of the Disney website, you can only book packages for Swan/Dolphin with tickets, but not able to book "room only" reservations. Does anyone remember being able to do so in the past?

Thanks very much for your help!

I thought you could; I never did, but I thought I saw that it was possible for room only. I always preferred calling, though, so I can't prove it. Sorry. Maybe someone else has a more positive answer.

Hi SwanDolphin

Sorry I can't remember either. I never booked online either since I also prefer to call.

Bumping this hoping you get an answer to your question.

I do have a question for you I hope you can answer. Some DIS'ners have stated that the Swan and Dolphin statues were placed on the wrong resorts.
I know I have posted that was just an untrue rumor since in the story behind the Swan& Dolphin that was told by Michael Graves the designer to Wade Sampson staff writer for Mouse planet Michael graves describes that the Dolphin is a mountain that has struggled to thrust its way out of the tropical rain forest. That is the reason for the banana leaves painted along the side of the building.

So are the statues mixed up or were they placed on the correct buildings?

Thanks for your help.

BTW

For those of you interested in reading the story behind the Swan & Dolphin that was told by Michael Graves the designer to Wade Sampson staff writer for Mouse planet here is my info thread:

Hey, SD...long time no see! :)

Thinking back to the late 90's and 2000, I recall phoning WDW reservations to book room-only nights rather than booking online. Are you SURE WDW resort rooms could be booked online back then?

I stayed at the Dolphin for the first time in Nov. 2000, but I booked my room-only stay on the Starwood web site. With the exception of one night at All Star Sports and 1 night offsite when the Swan/Dolphin was sold out, I have stayed only at the Swan or Dolphin since then.

Yes, but that will be showing my age as I remember the $89 per night value rate they once were!

My first stay was booked through Shades of Green, room only. :confused3

Oh, and.....
