Anyone purchased the Dole Whip mix for at-home use?

On our trip in May I crossed over to the dark side -- long a lover of the Dole Whip I finally tried the Dole Float. And HOLY MOTHER OF PEARL!!! Even DH, who was iffy about the Dole Whip, kept making moon eyes at me to get more of my float. Since our return, and especially with 2 weeks of 100+ weather it's been on my mind just about constantly I found the place to order the mix, and also saw the cute video someone made on making the Dole Whip at home using the real Dole Whip mix in their Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker (like that didn't make me start to drool!) The mix is officially winging it's way over the Pacific to me, but it occurred to me that I can't figure out if this is best served fresh out of the ice cream maker or if you can freeze it? Or if it's maybe better if you let it freeze and then soften just enough to make it's easy to scoop.

Any hints?

A special mix??? I have not heard of that but recipezaar.com has a recipe for it that I have heard is pretty doggone close.

On the Disney Cruise board, someone posted about this a few weekends ago. They had made it at home using the mix and loved it!! Let us know how it turns out. I might have to put in an order!

I got the ice cream maker & the mix for my DW for Xmas. She's the Dole Whip fanatic. She loves it. A couple of things to keep in mind {based on personal experience}, make sure the ice cream maker bowl is frozen before you use it. Don't be impatient {like we were our first time}. If it's not frozen, the mix won't come out right. Also, the few times we've made it, it seems to be a bit runny/watery, so the next time we're going to try a bit less water than what the recipe calls for. Either way, it's a great Disney fix, especially in this hot weather. Enjoy!
